During the first lockdown theatres all over the country were shut for a prolonged time. Ajay Devgn’s Bhuj: The Pride of India was one of the first movies to be announced for a direct OTT release. Disney+ Hotstar was chosen as the preferred digital platform. In the meantime, many titles acquired by Hotstar along with Bhuj have premiered on the digital streaming service. Unfortunately, Bhuj: The pride of India is yet to be released and there is no official confirmation to this effect.
So, what’s up with Bhuj: The Pride of India and when it’ll finally release is a big question. As per insider news, the movie is scheduled to be released on 15th August 2021 on the OTT platform Disney+Hotstar. The producers feel that independence day 2021 is an apt time to release the movie as the movie deals with an interesting event in Indian history.
Bhuj: Pride of India film is a commemoration of the 300 women of Madhapur in Gujarat. They were lead by IAF squadron leader Vijay Karnik who played a pivotal part in India’s victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak war. Karnik with his team, with the help of these local women, created history by reconstructing the only IAF airstrip at Bhuj destroyed during the war. Karnik was lauded for his valiant efforts which saved the day for the Indians. The film will be a tribute to the unparalleled bravado displayed by Karnik & women from the villages near Bhuj.
The makers are expecting that the patriotic theme and Ajay Devgun’s presence would surely get them record streams with an Independence Day release. Ajay Devgn is playing the character of Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik in the film. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt and Sonakshi Sinha.
