Vijay Sethupathi Returns to Host Bigg Boss Tamil 10 Weekend
Vijay Sethupathi returns to Bigg Boss Tamil 10 weekend hosting after a throat infection. Ramya Krishnan kept the seat warm; here's what the promo teases.
Vijay Sethupathi is back in the host’s chair on Bigg Boss Tamil 10. After sitting out a week because of a throat infection, the actor returns for the weekend episodes, and the new promo has already made one thing clear: he has been watching.
A comeback in classic Vijay Sethupathi style
The promo shows Sethupathi easing back into his weekend role with his usual calm, pointed energy. He asks viewers to let the contestants know he is back just the way he left, then notes that the house has changed since his last visit, especially the relationships inside it.
He also turns his attention to the arguments that have been building. Without naming contestants, he questions what it says about someone when they call others fools or idiots, hinting that unresolved fights could be aired out in the weekend episode.
Why the weekend host matters
Weekend episodes are not just recaps. On Bigg Boss Tamil, the host is the bridge between the audience and the contestants: the person who reads the room, presses contestants on their behaviour and resets the house for another week.
With Sethupathi unwell, Ramya Krishnan stepped into that role. This was her second stint as host of the show, after she had previously filled in during Season 5 when Kamal Haasan temporarily stepped away. Her presence kept the format steady, but the return of the regular anchor brings the focus back to the contestants and the conflicts he is signalling.
The actor’s absence came at a delicate point in the season. Contestant equations shift week to week, and a guest host, however able, changes the rhythm of the weekend episodes. Sethupathi’s return puts the attention back on the house, not on who is occupying the host’s seat.
Sethupathi’s screen slate, at a glance
- Baththa: recently seen in the comedy-drama directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan, about a man trapped in a school restroom.
- Jailer 2: a cameo in the Rajinikanth film.
- Train: leads the film scheduled for release on December 4, 2026.
- Slum Dog: 33 Temple Road: headlines a Puri Jagannadh directorial with Tabu and Samyuktha.
- Inji Vellam: a Mani Ratnam project alongside Sai Pallavi.
- Pocket Novel: filming is complete.
According to reports, the host’s break was linked to a throat infection and a strained voice while dubbing for Pocket Novel.
How to tune in
