Udta Teer Hits Rs 32.75 Crore, Week 2 Holds Well

Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan's Udta Teer stays steady in Week 2, adding Rs 2.75 crore on Friday to hit Rs 32.75 crore nett in India.

Udta Teer Hits Rs 32.75 Crore, Week 2 Holds Well

Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan’s Udta Teer is showing that its run has some staying power. The spy comedy added Rs 2.75 crore on its second Friday, taking its eight-day India cume to Rs 32.75 crore nett.

Directed by Aakash Kaushik, the film dropped 25 per cent from its opening Friday. In the Hindi theatrical market, that is being read as a good hold rather than a soft landing.

Week 2 hold: the numbers

  • 2nd Friday: Rs 2.75 crore
  • 8-day India total: Rs 32.75 crore nett
  • Second weekend projection: Rs 7 to 9 crore
  • Lifetime estimate: Rs 38 to 42 crore nett

Why the second Friday matters

An opening weekend can be built on advance bookings, release-day hype and a loyal star fan base. The second Friday is a truer test: it shows how many moviegoers are still choosing the film once the initial conversation has cooled.

For Udta Teer, a limited Friday drop suggests the audience is still there. A 25 per cent dip is not a record, but it is the kind of retention that keeps a film’s lifetime run respectable.

That is important because the release corridor is about to get crowded. The film has a couple more days to add to its total before Ramayana arrives and takes over screens.

What the weekend could add

Trade estimates project a second weekend of Rs 7 to 9 crore. If that holds, the cume will move close to the Rs 40 crore mark, giving the film a solid mid-range result rather than a week-two crash.

The final run is estimated at Rs 38 to 42 crore nett. That would put it below Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, the same lead pair’s previous release, but still leaves Udta Teer as a steady performer in a competitive calendar.

For fans and trade watchers

If you want to experience the film on a big screen, this weekend is the clearest window before the next major release changes the multiplex map. As with all box office tracking, these are trade estimates rather than final, certified collections, so use them to understand momentum rather than as settled accounting.
