Udta Teer Grosses Rs 50.32 Crore in India in 10 Days

Ten days after its Friday release, Udta Teer has turned steady audience love into a quiet box-office milestone. The Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan spy comedy crossed Rs 50 crore in gross domestic collections, with its second Sunday strengthening rather than slipping.

Second Sunday pushes the total past Rs 50 crore

The film’s team shared the day-10 numbers on Instagram. On Sunday, Udta Teer collected Rs 4.21 crore nett, or Rs 5.05 crore gross, in India. That lifted its ten-day domestic gross to Rs 50.32 crore, according to the makers.

The Sunday figure matters because it shows growth in the second weekend. For an original, star-led title without a franchise behind it, holding steady or climbing in week two is often the clearer test of audience word of mouth.

The numbers at a glance

  • Release date: Friday, October 23
  • Day 10 (Sunday): Rs 4.21 crore nett / Rs 5.05 crore gross
  • Total India gross: Rs 50.32 crore
  • Producers: Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment

Why the hold matters

Written and directed by Aakash Kaushik, Udta Teer flips the spy-movie template by leaning into comedy rather than large-scale action. The result is a lighter thriller that seems to have given audiences something to talk about over the weekend.

That mix is visible in the early critical response. Bollywood Bubble’s 4-star review called the film “a must watch in theatres” and said it shows a spy film does not always need to be serious or packed with over-the-top action.

What could come next

The cast includes Rahul Bose, Ram Kapoor, Gulshan Grover, Mukul Dev and Suhail Nayyar, with Supriya Pilgaonkar, Brijendra Kala and Sandeep Anand in supporting roles. The film is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Guneet Monga, Apoorva Mehta and Achin Jain under the Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment banners.

With the pre-Diwali week now in play, the team will be watching whether weekday footfalls stay steady before the next wave of festive releases lands.
