Tum Mere Ho Review: Music and Chemistry Carry the Romantic Drama

Gurmeet Choudhary and Isha Malviya bring warmth and chemistry to Ashish Panda's Tum Mere Ho, a light romantic drama powered by its music and lead pair.

Tum Mere Ho: Music and chemistry carry this romance

For fans of simple love stories, Tum Mere Ho arrives in theatres as a warm, low-stakes romantic drama — and that is also its charm. Directed by Ashish Panda, the film stars Gurmeet Choudhary and Isha Malviya in a story that keeps its focus on the couple at the centre.

A marriage of convenience, with a few bumps

Aakash (Gurmeet Choudhary) is an orphan and skydiver running a business in Thailand. His controlling girlfriend pushes him toward an engagement, but when he catches her in a compromising situation with another business partner, he walks away heartbroken.

On his friends’ advice, he travels to India and attends a wedding in his late father’s family. That is where he meets Tamanna (Isha Malviya). Their first meeting does not go well, but they slowly grow closer. The complication is classic: Aakash falls in love, but Tamanna sees him only as a good friend. When their lives get difficult, they agree to a contractual marriage — and the film’s core question is whether convenience can turn into something more.

Where Tum Mere Ho gets it right

The review credits the film’s success to two things above all: the lead pair’s chemistry and the music. Gurmeet Choudhary brings honesty and warmth to Aakash, while Isha Malviya, making her film debut, adds freshness and holds her own in the emotional scenes.

The soundtrack is a highlight, with several composers contributing:

  • Mithoon’s title track sets the mood for the story.
  • Arjuna Harjai’s Winter Ayun Waliye 2.0 stands out.
  • Vivek Verma and Krish add peppy energy to the album.

What could have been sharper

At 2 hours and 14 minutes, the film runs a little long, and the review notes that some portions could have been shorter. The supporting cast does a decent job, but the movie leans heavily on its two leads. For romance lovers, that may not be a problem — the central chemistry is warm enough to carry the story.

The verdict

Produced by Reva Creative House, Deb Guru Films, Aarti S and Debina Bonerjee, with Romanch Mehta and Aman Riyastee as co-producers, Tum Mere Ho also stars Shaan R Grover, Anushkaa Luhar, Romanch Mehta and Annissha Garg. It is a simple, light romantic drama supported by a soulful soundtrack and promising performances. Don’t expect the 1990s film of the same name; this one has its own story. If you enjoy young love, music and a slow-burn contract marriage, it is a pleasant theatre watch.
