Tiger Shroff Firing: 3 Accused Held After 15-Minute Train Trap

Kota City Police detained three accused on the Pune-Jaipur Express after Sunday's firing near Tiger Shroff's car. Mumbai Police have now arrived to take custody.

Tiger Shroff Firing: 3 Accused Held After 15-Minute Train Trap

Three men accused in the firing near Tiger Shroff’s football session in Juhu were detained Monday aboard the Pune-Jaipur Express, Kota City Police said. The arrests came quickly after a morning tip-off: officers searched the train within about 15 minutes.

A swift train search

Kota Superintendent of Police Tejaswani Gautam told ANI that police received information around 9:45 am and immediately activated a team. Officers covered platforms and exit points, then intercepted the train and searched it thoroughly.

The accused have been identified as Rehan alias Sukka from Sonipat, Haryana; Hritik Kurmi alias Roshan from Begusarai, Bihar, who had been living in Mumbai for a few years; and one minor. They are being handed over to Mumbai Police, who reached Kota on Monday.

What we know about the firing

The firing took place around 7 pm on Sunday as Tiger Shroff was leaving a football club in Mumbai’s Juhu area. According to Mumbai Police, the accused allegedly opened fire at the actor’s car. Tiger escaped a direct gunshot wound, but his driver was injured.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who visited Tiger’s home on Sunday night, said the actor had injuries to his left hand from gunpowder and glass fragments. He said Tiger and his mother Ayesha Shroff were shaken and assured them of the state government’s support. Shinde said, “Strict action will be taken, and threats against public figures will not be tolerated.”

  • Tip-off: Kota Police received information at about 9:45 am on Monday.
  • Search: The train was searched within 15 minutes; all three suspects were detained.
  • Alleged plan: Police say the accused intended to go to Delhi and then escape to Nepal.
  • Charges: BNS sections 109(1) and 3(5), plus Arms Act sections 3 and 25.

Why this matters for star security

Preliminary questioning suggests the accused had mapped Tiger’s routine: sources in Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch said the attackers knew he visited the Juhu football ground on Sundays and had done reconnaissance. After the firing, they allegedly rode along SV Road through Vile Parle and Andheri, abandoned a motorcycle near Andheri West railway station, and boarded a train toward Borivali before crossing the Maharashtra border.

One of the accused works as a Rapido rider, while the other adult and the minor work as labourers in Sonipat, police said. Gautam added that Rehan had earlier been in contact with an individual named Anil Pandit, a line investigators are likely to pursue further.

Security outside Salman Khan’s residence in Bandra was also tightened after the incident, with police in bulletproof jackets and vehicles positioned at Galaxy Apartments.

What comes next

The accused are expected to be questioned in Mumbai, where investigators will look into the planning, financing and possible handlers behind the firing. The case is being treated as a serious threat to a public figure, and the speed of this arrest has already given fans and the industry some reassurance.
