Scene Glimpse: Suriya’s DSP Inbaraj Is All Charm and Chaos

Suriya plays DSP Inbaraj in the new Scene glimpse, assembling an oddball team in Jithu Madhavan's action-comedy ahead of the November 6 Diwali release.

Suriya commands respect as DSP Inbaraj in Scene glimpse

A jolly officer with an unusual mission

Suriya is back in uniform, but this time the uniform comes with a smile. The new glimpse from Scene introduces DSP Inbaraj as a cheerful officer who cracks jokes even while handling a serious investigation during the COVID-19 outbreak. The 1-minute-4-second promo spends its runtime selling charm first and chaos second.

Directed by Jithu Madhavan, who turned heads with Aavesham, Scene pairs Suriya with Naslen as the story’s main antagonist. Sushin Shyam’s energetic score drives the glimpse, and it closes with Naslen’s character Eeswaran saying, “Innum Mudiyala…” — a taunt that tells fans the real fight is still ahead.

What the glimpse reveals

  • Suriya plays DSP Inbaraj, investigating a case during the COVID-19 outbreak.
  • He is introduced as a jolly, intelligent officer who brings humour into serious moments.
  • Naslen’s Eeswaran gets the final line, marking him as the antagonist to watch.
  • The featured track “Respectaa” is sung by Arivu, with lyrics by Vaasi.

Nazriya Nazim Fahadh joins as co-lead, with Anandraj, Lal and Raj Priyan in key roles. Jyotika and Suriya produce the film under Zhagaram Studios, and Scene is set for a theatrical release on November 6, 2026, right in the Diwali frame.

The story behind the chaos

Jithu Madhavan told Vikatan that the story follows a former officer assigned to trace an old identity. With no team available, he assembles one from a group of unconventional people — and living and working with them proves difficult when they try to solve the case. To make things harder, their rival team is highly organised.

That contrast is the film’s engine. The investigation, the relationships inside the quirky team, and the humour that comes from their mismatched styles are all part of what Madhavan describes as a film families can enjoy together. For a Diwali release, that promise of a broad, light-hearted outing matters.

Why the glimpse matters now

Suriya is coming off the romantic drama Vishwanath & Sons, which is streaming on Netflix. Scene moves him into a lighter commercial zone — an action-comedy with a jolly cop at the centre, a rising director in Jithu Madhavan, and a young antagonist in Naslen. The promo positions Suriya as the star who can hold the screen by grinning through a crisis, not just by fighting through one.

For fans planning their festive viewing, Scene arrives at a moment when the Diwali calendar is crowded. A film that sells family comedy alongside star power has a clearer lane to walk into theatres. After Scene, Suriya moves to the tentatively titled SuriyaXHombale, also known as Suriya48, directed by TJ Gnanavel and produced by Hombale Films, with Kayadu Lohar and Yogi Babu in key roles.
