Saif Ali Khan Credits Kareena for Bond With Sara, Ibrahim
On Koffee With Karan, Saif Ali Khan said Kareena Kapoor Khan makes the blended family work, and Sara and Ibrahim reciprocate her effort.

Saif Ali Khan rarely talks about the machinery of his family life, but on the latest episode of Koffee With Karan he pulled the curtain back on a relationship that often gets reduced to headlines: the bond between Kareena Kapoor Khan and his children from his first marriage, Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan.
His answer was simple: it works because everyone works at it.
Kareena gets the credit
Asked about family reunions and how the household has made peace over the years, Saif placed the credit squarely with Kareena. He said she “makes it easy and is wonderful with Sara and Ibrahim, and they also make an effort and reciprocate it.”
Just as quickly, he widened the frame. “Everyone has been really wonderful and understanding,” he said, adding that such equations work both ways.
The younger brothers look up to Ibrahim
Kareena added another layer: her sons Taimur Ali Khan and Jehangir Ali Khan adore their older brother Ibrahim and look up to him. Saif matched the warmth, describing Ibrahim’s own equation with the little ones: “They love playing with him. Sometimes he comes over and he goes to their rooms and ask them questions.”
It is a small detail, but it is the kind that makes a blended family feel like a family, not a PR talking point.
- Saif credits Kareena for building comfort with Sara and Ibrahim.
- Sara and Ibrahim reciprocate the effort, Saif said.
- Taimur and Jeh look up to Ibrahim, Kareena added.
Why this lands
Bollywood has a long history of step-family stories told as conflict. What makes this conversation notable is how unremarkable the Pataudis make it sound. Saif also recalled trying to recreate the warm family table he had seen at Salman Khan’s home, where elders and children sat together and spent time.
Saif married Amrita Singh in 1991; they separated in 2004. He and Kareena grew close on the set of Tashan in 2008 and married in October 2012. Taimur arrived in December 2016 and Jehangir in February 2021.
None of that history is news. The news is the tone: appreciative, reciprocal and free of the usual drama, which is exactly why it works.
