Rohit Shetty Gives YUNG DSA a Solo Game Reality Check

Rohit Shetty stepped in as Bigg Boss 20 host and told rapper YUNG DSA to leave his group behind and play the game on his own.

Rohit Shetty Tells YUNG DSA to Play Solo on Bigg Boss 20

The Weekend Ka Vaar stage looked a little different this week. With Salman Khan away due to prior commitments, filmmaker Rohit Shetty took over the hosting duties on Bigg Boss 20, and he ended up giving one contestant a very specific piece of advice.

During a one-on-one segment with rapper YUNG DSA, Shetty brought up the journey the contestant had shared about his family and where he comes from. The filmmaker said he could relate to that path, and then turned the conversation toward the game.

“You are lost in this group”

Shetty praised YUNG DSA for being honest, for not talking behind anyone’s back, and for taking a stand when something feels wrong. But he was equally direct about the problem. He said the rapper has real potential, yet right now that potential is getting buried inside his group.

“I want you to get out of this group and play solo,” Shetty told him.

Loneliness, reframed as the format

YUNG DSA has been open about feeling lonely in the house. Shetty pushed back by reminding him that Bigg Boss is a solo game at its core. “This game is a solo game, and you should play solo,” he said.

That reframing is the part worth watching. In a show where group dynamics change every week, a contestant who can hold attention alone is usually a stronger candidate than one who is only visible inside an alliance.

Shetty’s credibility here comes from what he does for a living: he builds films around heroes who stand apart, often alone, and still pull the audience toward them. So when he tells a contestant to play solo, it is not generic advice.

What changes for YUNG DSA

  • Shetty’s advice is to stop leaning on group identity and start building a clear individual story.
  • The praise for taking a stand gives YUNG DSA a quality to lean into: directness.
  • His agreement to play solo turns a mentor moment into a possible game reset.

The rapper, who is from Pune, accepted the feedback and said he would focus on playing independently. That is easy to promise on a Weekend Ka Vaar stage, of course, and much harder to execute once the house turns against you.

A new music tease outside the house

While YUNG DSA works on his Bigg Boss game, his team has shared a behind-the-scenes video hinting at something new for fans. No details have been announced yet. For now, the practical question inside the house is whether he actually steps away from the group and starts playing the lone game Shetty has asked him to play.
