Ramayana advance booking hits ₹5.33 crore 14 days before release
Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana has sold 1.28 lakh tickets across 3,710 shows for ₹5.33 crore in advance sales, two weeks before its November 5 release.

Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana has begun its box-office journey earlier than most films even get a trailer. Advance bookings opened on Dussehra, October 20, and within roughly a day the mythological epic had already built a solid pre-release sum.
By 3 pm on Wednesday, October 21, the film had grossed ₹5.33 crore from advance sales across India, excluding block seats, according to trade tracker Sacnilk. That came from 1.28 lakh tickets across 3,710 shows. Bookings added another ₹21.71 lakh after the initial 6 am count.
Overall occupancy is around 15 per cent, with the Hindi version doing most of the early work. The Kannada and Telugu versions are beginning to find their own audiences, which matters for a pan-India title.
Where the early money is coming from
- Delhi-NCR: ₹1.82 crore, about 34% of the total advance gross.
- Mumbai: ₹1.07 crore, nearly 20%.
- Pune: ₹35.31 lakh.
- Hyderabad: ₹32.22 lakh.
- Bengaluru: ₹31.45 lakh.
State-wise, Maharashtra leads with ₹1.72 crore, followed by Delhi at ₹1.40 crore and Gujarat at ₹46.54 lakh. Dubbed versions are also registering sales: Kannada has collected ₹19.03 lakh from 69 shows, while Telugu has earned ₹17.41 lakh from 34 shows.
Premium formats are part of the story too. In Mumbai, IMAX recliner seats are priced up to ₹2,770, a reminder that audiences are paying more for the experience.
Why this early start matters
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana: Rise of a Legend stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana, with Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshmana. DNEG is handling VFX, while the music comes from Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman.
The film is planned as a two-part saga, with the first part releasing on November 5 and the second expected in 2027. An early advance-booking number this strong suggests real interest beyond the opening weekend, though the final weeks will show how much bigger the total can get.
