Ramayana advance booking hits ₹3.13 crore in a day

Ramayana has started collecting money long before its first show. Advance bookings for the Ranbir Kapoor and Yash epic opened on Dussehra, October 20, and the film crossed the ₹3 crore mark across India within 24 hours. With 15 days still to go until release, the number is an early temperature check on a film being positioned as one of 2026’s biggest theatrical events.

According to entertainment tracking portal Sacnilk, the Nitesh Tiwari directorial recorded ₹3.13 crore in advance bookings, excluding blocked seats. That came from 86,187 tickets sold across 3,537 shows in 104 cities, with occupancy at about 11%.

The Hindi version leads the early push

Hindi shows are doing most of the heavy lifting so far. The Hindi version is contributing nearly 95% of the gross through 3,474 shows. The Kannada version has added around ₹25 lakh through just 61 shows—an early signal of Yash’s pulling power in Karnataka, where limited Kannada formats are currently available for booking.

It is a solid start, but not the highest the industry has seen in 2026. For context, Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge collected ₹7.8 crore in its first 24 hours of advance bookings, according to the same report. Ramayana’s ₹3.13 crore has come without reserved seats and with many shows still to be opened. Those numbers usually move closer to release.

Why the early number matters

Advance bookings are not final box office; they are a demand signal. A film of this scale—an adaptation of the epic, with Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana and Sunny Deol as Hanuman—will be judged on how fast it scales from here. The next milestones to watch are how many shows open in the final week, whether occupancy climbs, and how the Kannada and other language versions expand.

Opening ticket sales on Dussehra also turns a powerful calendar moment into a purchase trigger for audiences already in a festival mindset.

Release and distribution at a glance

  • Ramayana Part 1 releases worldwide on November 5, 2026; Part 2 is planned for Diwali 2027.
  • Sony Pictures Entertainment is handling global and international distribution.
  • Dharma Productions is overseeing the Hindi release.
  • Dil Raju’s SVC Release has Andhra Pradesh and Telangana; AVA Productions has Kerala; Yash’s Monster Mind Creations is managing the South Indian and Kannada regions.

What to do if you plan to watch

If the film is on your calendar, book early to secure your preferred show, especially in languages with limited screens. Keep checking platforms as release week approaches—more shows are expected to open, and the current 11% occupancy means there is still wide availability. Do not read the final box office into one day of pre-sales; the real test begins after November 5.
