Prahaar Nets Rs 15 Crore in 6 Days as Day 6 Drops 60%
Prahaar dropped 60% on Day 6 to Rs 1.25 crore, taking its six-day India cume to Rs 15 crore. The first week is heading for Rs 16–17 crore.

Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam lost its post-holiday momentum on Wednesday. According to trade estimates reported by Pinkvilla, the Rajkummar Rao-led courtroom drama collected Rs 1.25 crore nett in India on Day 6. That is a 60 per cent fall from the previous day, and it takes the film’s six-day total to Rs 15 crore nett.
Six days in numbers
- Day 6 collection: Rs 1.25 crore nett
- Six-day cume: Rs 15 crore nett
- First week estimate: Rs 16–17 crore nett
- Projected lifetime: around Rs 30 crore nett
Trade analysts now expect the Avinash Arun-directed film to finish its first week in the Rs 16–17 crore range. If the current trend holds, the full run may close near Rs 30 crore nett—a modest result for a star-led legal drama.
What went wrong
A 60 per cent Day 6 slide is usually a sign of weak word of mouth. The film has received mixed reactions from audiences, and the Dussehra holiday inflated Tuesday’s number. Once the holiday advantage faded, the baseline demand became clearer.
The mid-week number matters because it strips out the festival effect. Holiday Tuesdays can make a film look stronger than it is, and Wednesday is often the first honest read of how audiences are actually responding.
Why it matters to fans
For fans who follow stars as closely as films, Prahaar is a reality check. A strong ensemble—Lalit Prabhakar, Jaideep Ahlawat, Wamiqa Gabbi, Ashish Vidyarthi, Sikandar Kher, Nassar and others—does not automatically guarantee a hold. The film tells the story of an attorney navigating a high-profile case while managing professional pressure and strained family relationships. It leans on evidence, strategy and principle, but mixed word of mouth has not given the subject the urgency it needs.
The result is another non-hit for Maddock Films after Chhaava, which adds pressure to the studio’s slate. The courtroom genre depends on conversation and repeat viewing; without that, the box office slows quickly.
What to watch next
The first-week total is the next checkpoint. If collections stabilise over the weekend, the lifetime number could improve slightly, but current trends point to a finish near Rs 30 crore nett. For now, Prahaar looks set to be remembered as a project with strong credentials and a modest box office return.
