Nayyi Navelli Hits Rs 17.50 Crore in 5 Days After Dussehra Jump
Yami Gautam's Nayyi Navelli added Rs 4 crore on Dussehra for a 5-day India nett of Rs 17.50 crore and is heading for a Rs 23-25 crore first week.

Yami Gautam’s horror comedy Nayyi Navelli found its first real festive uptick on Dussehra. According to trade estimates reported by Pinkvilla, the film added Rs 4 crore on its first Tuesday, taking its five-day India net collection to Rs 17.50 crore.
The jump matters because it arrived on a holiday, not on a wave of critical praise. Tuesday’s number was up 60% from Monday, showing how strongly a festival date can move the box office even when audience response is mixed.
In the Indian movie business, a long holiday acts as a multiplier. Families and casual moviegoers are more likely to step out, which gives films such as Nayyi Navelli a chance to convert curiosity into tickets before word-of-mouth settles the debate.
What the numbers show
With five days done, the film is now heading for a first-week total in the Rs 23 to 25 crore range. Trade estimates suggest the lifetime number could settle between Rs 35 and 40 crore.
- Dussehra Tuesday: Rs 4 crore
- Monday-to-Tuesday jump: 60%
- Five-day India nett: Rs 17.50 crore
- Projected first week: Rs 23 to 25 crore
- Projected lifetime: Rs 35 to 40 crore
Why the comparisons matter
For a mid-scale horror comedy, the consolation is relative. Nayyi Navelli is performing better than Rajkummar Rao’s Prahaar and Yami Gautam’s own previous release, Haq. That suggests the film has found some audience, even though the reception has been described as average.
The average word-of-mouth is the real problem. A festive bump can lift a single day, but the weekend hold and repeat viewing depend on whether audiences actually like the film. That is why the first-week number matters more than the Tuesday spike alone.
The film at a glance
Directed by Balaji Mohan, Nayyi Navelli is set in Meerut and follows a troubled family whose fortunes change after a mysterious bride arrives. Her seemingly miraculous abilities bring peace and prosperity, but also suspicion: is she blessed, or is she a witch?
Yami Gautam Dhar leads the cast alongside Adinath Kothare, Mita Vashisht, Sonal Jha, Sunita Rajwar, Rajesh Dubey, Aaditya Kulshreshth and Prateek Pachauri. The film is written by Himanshu Sharma and Divy Nidhi Sharma, produced by Himanshu and Aanand L Rai, with music by GV Prakash Kumar.
What to watch next
The next test is whether Nayyi Navelli can hold beyond the holiday. If it does, the Rs 35 to 40 crore lifetime estimate looks achievable. If the mixed word-of-mouth catches up, the run could taper sooner. For fans, the Dussehra bump is a useful sign: the film is finding takers, but it has not yet turned into a breakout.
