Mika Singh: Diljit Gave Border 2 Not Even 1% Push
Mika Singh praised Diljit Dosanjh's global music success but questioned why he stayed quiet on Border 2 while posting about Sardaar Ji 3.

Mika Singh has a question for Diljit Dosanjh, and it is not about music. The singer credited Diljit for taking Punjabi pop to a global stage, then asked why the actor stayed so quiet around Border 2, the January 2026 war sequel that paired him with Sunny Deol.
A proud brother, with one complaint
Speaking to Times Now, Mika dismissed the idea that he is jealous of Diljit’s success. He said he was proud to see another turbaned Punjabi singer carry forward the legacy of Daler Mehndi and make a mark internationally.
Then he turned to Border 2. Mika’s claim: Diljit did not promote the film ‘even one per cent,’ never thanked Sunny Deol, and stayed silent during and after release. He said he had never heard Diljit call it a big thing to share a film with Sunny Deol.
The Sardaar Ji 3 comparison
Mika said the only film he saw Diljit post about was Sardaar Ji 3, which starred Hania Aamir and Neeru Bajwa. That film became controversial in 2025 because of Hania’s casting amid India-Pakistan tensions following the Pahalgam terror attack. It did not release theatrically in India and opened overseas on June 27, 2025.
His larger point: if you work in Bollywood, show up for it. He questioned why someone would accept Bollywood projects and then say they do not need Bollywood. He added that his comments came ‘as a brother,’ not as a rival.
The other side of the timeline
Diljit was not completely absent from Border 2 promotion. He shared his first look in December 2025, appeared in the film’s promotional campaign, and posted behind-the-scenes videos and songs. The gap Mika is pointing to is more about the volume and tone than a total blackout.
- Mika’s praise: Diljit has taken Punjabi music worldwide and deserves his success.
- The question: Why promote a film with a Pakistani actor but not Border 2?
- The context: Sardaar Ji 3 skipped an India release after casting backlash.
- What Diljit did: Shared first look, campaign clips and BTS content for Border 2.
Why the conversation matters
For fans, this is less about a fight and more about how stars manage their public presence. A big patriotic film like Border 2 carries expectations, and silence can read as indifference. Mika said he is speaking as a brother, and he reminded people that he defended Diljit during Khalistani backlash and opened his studio to Diljit’s team in the early days.
Diljit was last seen in Imtiaz Ali’s Main Vaapas Aaunga, which released in June 2026. Next, he is bringing his Aura stadium tour to India, with multiple cities announced.
