Khushi Kapoor Co-Founds Nail Brand with 25,000 Launch Hopefuls
Khushi Kapoor joins Indian nail care brand nailinit as Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer, launching with an intimate Alibaug slumber party.

Khushi Kapoor has taken on a new role that has little to do with film sets. The actor has joined Indian nail care brand nailinit as Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer, partnering with founders Shubham Singhal and Tanishq Ambegaokar to build a label she helped develop from the ground up.
Unlike a quick endorsement, this puts Kapoor deep inside the business. She has worked on product development, vendor selection, material research and the brand’s creative direction. Her particular obsession was the adhesive: she wanted press-on nails that would hold like acrylics but without the damage that often comes with extensions.
“I was very particular about wanting press-ons that would stick well and stay put, almost like acrylics, but without the damage,” she told Bollywood Hungama. “I didn’t want us to just sell press-ons. I wanted us to think about the whole experience.”
Launching in her own style
Instead of a conventional press event, Kapoor introduced nailinit at an intimate slumber party in Alibaug. She had invited followers to apply for a chance to attend through an Instagram video, and around 25,000 people reportedly responded.
For Kapoor, the format was deliberate. A girls’ night, she said, is where the best conversations happen—where secrets are shared and dreams are spoken aloud. Sharing a venture she calls a huge personal dream deserved that relaxed, close-knit setting rather than a stage and a mic.
What she is actually doing
- Product development and material research for press-on nails
- Selecting vendors and fine-tuning the nail adhesive
- Overseeing creative direction, prep and aftercare instructions
- Learning manufacturing, sourcing, warehousing and team-building
Why this matters
Celebrity beauty brands live or die on authenticity. Younger buyers are quick to spot a hollow endorsement, and Kapoor is betting that visible involvement—down to glue formulations and warehouse decisions—will give nailinit the credibility to stand out in a crowded category. For Bollywood watchers, it is also a glimpse of a star building a career beyond the screen, one product decision at a time.
The learning curve, by her own admission, has been steep. “Honestly, I’ve learnt a lot more than I expected to,” she said, adding that building a company means understanding materials as well as deciding whether to outsource warehousing or run it in-house. For Kapoor, the venture is not just another association; it is something she finally gets to call her own.
