Jailer 2 Hits Rs 475 Crore in India, Nears Rs 500 Crore
Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 adds Rs 101 crore in week two to reach Rs 475 crore gross in India and now has the Rs 500 crore club in sight.

Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has turned its second weekend into a statement. Fifteen days in, the Nelson Dilipkumar-directed action drama has crossed Rs 475 crore gross at the Indian box office, with Rs 101 crore of that coming in week two alone.
The film collected Rs 5.50 crore on its second Thursday. While that marks a 70 per cent drop from the previous Thursday, the larger picture is one of strength: the film has already been called the new Industry Hit for Tamil cinema, as Pinkvilla reported. In trade terms, an industry hit is the top grosser in a language market.
Why the second week matters
For a star-led sequel, the second week is the real test. An opening weekend can be powered by fan rush and advance booking. Week two shows whether casual viewers are turning up and whether the film has repeat value. Adding Rs 101 crore in that period suggests Jailer 2 is not running on hype alone.
- 15-day India gross: Rs 475 crore
- Week two total: Rs 101 crore
- Second Thursday: Rs 5.50 crore
The road to Rs 500 crore
The sequel is now closing in on the Rs 500 crore club. With the third weekend expected to grow, the milestone is within reach before Diwali releases change the market.
What happens after that depends on how well it holds against Ramayana, Scene and the other festive releases. For now, the film has a clear run, and every extra day adds to its record.
The Diwali test
Box office watchers treat the second-week hold as a trust check. A film that earns heavily only in the opening frame and collapses afterwards is considered front-loaded. Jailer 2 has done the opposite, converting its opening momentum into sustained demand.
What this means for fans
For Rajinikanth fans, this is more than a number. It strengthens the argument that the actor remains one of Indian cinema’s most bankable stars, and that a sequel can extend a hit when it gives audiences more of what they loved the first time.
If you have not caught Jailer 2 yet, the third weekend is the practical window. Once the Diwali slate lands, screens and showtimes will split. For the biggest theatrical experience, this is the moment.
