Jailer 2 OTT Cut May Add 30 Minutes of Extra Footage

A new report says Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 may stream after November 10 as an uncut version with about 30 extra minutes. Makers haven't confirmed.

Jailer 2 OTT Cut Could Add 30 Minutes of New Footage

Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is still playing in cinemas after its October 15 release, but the conversation has already moved to the streaming version. A fresh report suggests the digital edition may not look like the one audiences saw in theatres.

An uncut OTT version could arrive

News18 Tamil, cited by Pinkvilla, reports that the Nelson Dilipkumar-directed sequel may stream as an uncut version with approximately 30 minutes of additional footage. The digital window is expected to open after November 10, 2026.

So far, the makers have not confirmed the extra footage or the streaming date. That keeps the report in the ‘strong possibility’ category rather than an official announcement.

What the 30 extra minutes could add

For a multi-star action sequel, extra runtime usually means more of the actors fans came to see. The reported additions are likely to be concentrated in exactly that area.

  • Mohanlal, Vijay Sethupathi and Hrithik Roshan: extended sequences that were not part of the theatrical cut.
  • Santhanam: a cameo that was removed from theatres and may be restored in the uncut edition.
  • Total addition: about 30 minutes of material.

That would give Jailer 2 a genuine second life on streaming. Fans who caught the theatrical cut get a reason to return, while new viewers are offered a longer first watch.

Why the timing matters

A streaming arrival after November 10 would keep the film in the conversation just as its theatrical momentum settles. An uncut digital version also gives the platform a distinct hook: it is not just replaying the cinema release, but selling a bigger edit.

The plot supports the scale. Jailer 2 picks up three months after the first film, with Tiger Muthuvel Pandian facing the Kalpak family and the consequences of his earlier moves. Alongside Rajinikanth, the cast includes Suraj Venjaramoodu, SJ Suryah, Vidya Balan, Hakkim Shah, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Mirnaa and several others.

What to watch for next

Treat the added runtime as a rumour until an official announcement lands. The clearest signals will be the final streaming date and the declared runtime. If the digital edit runs about 30 minutes longer than the theatrical version, the uncut release is real.
