Diljit Dosanjh’s Aura Tour opener denied police permission
Delhi Police have denied permission for Diljit Dosanjh's October 30 Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium concert, citing threat inputs. No cancellation is confirmed yet.

Diljit Dosanjh’s Aura India Tour has hit a roadblock before the stage lights go on. Delhi Police have denied permission for the singer’s October 30 concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, leaving the India leg opener in limbo and ticketholders waiting for clarity.
What Delhi Police told organisers
The Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (South District) conveyed the decision to ticketing partner BookMyShow after reviewing an application submitted on October 14. Police cited security concerns, including what the communication called “specific threat-related inputs”, as well as existing law-and-order commitments during the festive season.
The police did not publicly detail those inputs. Earlier reports have pointed to security concerns around Diljit, including alleged threats linked to Khalistani elements, but the refusal does not establish that a particular threat was aimed at the singer or this concert.
The decision lands amid a tense security moment in Delhi. Recent incidents involving the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, reported gunshots outside the home of Diljit’s manager, and an attack involving actor Tiger Shroff have kept law-enforcement agencies on edge.
Why the date had already shifted
The Delhi show was originally planned for November 1. It was moved to October 30 after Rajya Sabha MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney raised concerns about holding a concert on the anniversary of the 1984 anti-Sikh violence. Organisers had said existing tickets would stay valid for the new date.
Now even the rescheduled date needs a green light. The event listing was still visible on BookMyShow as of October 22, but a live listing is not the same as police clearance.
What fans should do now
- Do not assume the Delhi show is cancelled: the permission refusal is not a confirmed cancellation.
- Wait for an official announcement from Diljit’s team, the organisers or BookMyShow about a new date, venue change or refund.
- Keep your booking confirmation, ticket emails and payment receipts handy in case plans change.
For fans who booked Delhi tickets, the uncertainty matters as much as the show itself. Until an official update arrives, travel and accommodation plans around October 30 carry real risk, and refund or resale questions stay unanswered.
The Aura India Tour was set to open its India leg in Delhi. That makes the clearance bigger than one venue: a disrupted opener can slow the early rhythm of the entire run. For now, the safest source of truth is an announcement from Diljit’s team or BookMyShow, not social media speculation.
