Dharma’s 2028 Slate: 3 Big Films and Kartik Aaryan Next
Karan Johar is expanding Dharma Productions' 2028 slate with three big-budget films and an untitled Kartik Aaryan project.

Karan Johar is scaling up Dharma Productions’ theatrical slate with three big-budget films meant to land in cinemas in 2028. The projects, reported by Bollywood Hungama, are already in motion, with shooting planned from 2027.
The three big 2028 bets
A trade source described the first three titles as fully in production:
- RN Kao: an epic espionage film based on the founder of R&AW, India’s external intelligence agency.
- Gadadhari Bheem: a modern-day superhero film drawn from characters of the Mahabharata.
- Radha Krishna: an epic love story of Lord Krishna and Radha, built around action and devotion.
“These three films are fully in production, and there are multiple other projects in development,” the source said.
Kartik Aaryan’s next
Karan Johar is also developing an untitled mytho-creature film with director Sandeep Modi, with Kartik Aaryan in the lead. Bollywood Hungama reports it was first to break two of the four films in this new Dharma slate.
The wider calendar
Dharma already has two 2027 theatrical releases in the pipeline: Lag Jaa Gale and Nagzilla. Vishkanya, starring Rajkummar Rao and Pratibha Ranta, is scheduled to go on floors in December. Also in development are Prosit Roy’s next with Lakshya and Vedika Pinto, and Dostana 2.
Why this matters
For fans, this is much more than a list of titles. It shows Dharma swinging toward large-canvas, franchise-ready storytelling—espionage, superhero, devotional epic and creature feature—after a period when the theatrical business has been chasing audiences harder than ever. The 2028 window gives the banner time to build each world carefully, while the 2027 releases keep the slate moving sooner.
