Ayushmann’s Diwali reunion revives Bareilly Ki Barfi memories
A viral Diwali video brings together Ayushmann Khurrana, Rajkummar Rao and the Stree boys, giving fans a first taste of Yeh Prem Mol Liya.

Ayushmann Khurrana and Tahira Kashyap Khurrana’s annual Diwali party in Mumbai usually delivers one or two talking points. This year, it delivered a mini cinematic crossover. A video shared by Ayushmann on Instagram shows him dancing with Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee to the title track of Yeh Prem Mol Liya, and the clip has been circulating for a very specific reason: it pushes two nostalgia buttons at once.
Ayushmann’s caption kept the moment light: “Prem waali Diwali sab ke saath.” Fans, naturally, read much more into the frame.
Two nostalgia triggers in one frame
The first throwback belongs to Bareilly Ki Barfi, the 2017 Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari comedy in which Ayushmann played Chirag Dubey and Rajkummar Rao played Pritam Vidrohi. Their oddball pairing became one of the film’s highlights, so seeing the two share a dance floor made viewers return to those scenes all over again.
The second trigger is the supernatural universe. Aparshakti and Abhishek are familiar as Bittu and Jana in Stree, Bhediya and Stree 2, and their presence adds a horror-comedy flavour to what would otherwise be a straightforward festive clip.
- Ayushmann Khurrana and Rajkummar Rao: the Bareilly Ki Barfi pairing of Chirag Dubey and Pritam Vidrohi, back together.
- Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee: Bittu and Jana from the Maddock horror-comedy world.
- The track: the title song of Yeh Prem Mol Liya, Ayushmann’s next big-screen outing.
A new Prem, a familiar legacy
Beyond the reunion, the video is an early taste of the music from Yeh Prem Mol Liya. Directed by Sooraj Barjatya and produced by Rajshri Productions in association with Mahaveer Jain Films, the family entertainer marks Ayushmann’s first on-screen pairing with Sharvari. Himesh Reshammiya has composed the music, and the release date is set for November 27, 2026.
The title carries its own weight. Barjatya has long used the name Prem for his romantic leads: Salman Khan in Maine Pyar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, Hum Saath-Saath Hain and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, and Shahid Kapoor in Vivah. Ayushmann is now the third actor to headline a Barjatya film as Prem. So a cheerful Diwali dance is also a gentle signal that a new Prem era is on its way.
For viewers who grew up on the 2017 comedy or caught the horror-comedy wave later, the clip packs two nostalgic triggers into one phone video. That is a small but effective reminder of how Bollywood’s star-driven universe often does its best marketing on the dance floor.
