Anup Soni on his deleted Shaque scenes: the final cut stings
Anup Soni posted deleted sequences from Netflix's Shaque: Trust No One and reflected on why good scenes sometimes fail to make the final cut.

Anup Soni is giving fans a rare look at the scenes that did not make it into Netflix’s Shaque: Trust No One.
On Saturday, the actor shared several deleted sequences on Instagram, along with a note about everything that goes into a moment even when it never reaches the screen.
The mystery thriller, directed by Rensil D’Silva and produced by Siddharth P Malhotra and Sapna Malhotra under Alchemy Productions, premiered on Netflix on September 24. Soni plays Inspector Khurana in the Parineeti Chopra and Jennifer Winget-starrer.
What the deleted scenes show
The clips cover some of the show’s action-heavy moments. In one, a wounded Khurana is tackled by co-star Vicky Arora. Another sequence follows with Soni strangling Arora. A third shows Soni running out of breath while filming with a camera attached to his waist.
His caption made the stakes clear. “A lot of thought, time, effort and resources” go into sequences like these, he wrote, with writers, directors, action choreographers, actors, cinematographers, producers and the entire crew contributing.
Why the final cut can sting
Soni did not frame the cuts as a fight with his collaborators. He admitted there can be “a little disappointment” when a sequence drops out, but added that filmmaking is about the larger picture and that sometimes leaving something out serves the story better.
That tension is familiar in streaming. Actors live with a scene for days through preparation, action rehearsals and multiple takes, while editors and directors have to protect the show’s pace and clarity. A deleted scene is often good work that simply does not earn its place in the final version.
From Crime Patrol to Khurana Saab
Soni’s screen journey makes his words more resonant. He started acting in television in the 1990s and appeared in CID before becoming widely known as Bhairon Singh in Balika Vadhu. Later, he hosted Crime Patrol for several years.
- His film roles include Gangaajal, Apaharan, Hathyar and Prassthanam.
- He also appeared in Satyameva Jayate 2.
- Most recently, he was seen in The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest, which released in theatres on September 25.
That body of work sits behind a short Instagram post that doubles as a quiet lesson in craft: a scene is not worthless just because an audience never sees it.
What fans can take away
For viewers, Soni’s post is a small backstage pass into how a Netflix thriller is shaped. It also explains why an actor may describe sequences that never appear. The next time a deleted-scenes feature drops, the work behind it is easier to appreciate.
