Mumbai: The film ‘Delhi-6’, which was released in 2009, flopped badly at the box office, but its music is still a superhit.

It was shot in Old Delhi and gives a message of community unity. The film was directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. Abhishek Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor were in the lead roles in the film.

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra talks in detail about the film in his autobiography ‘The Stranger in the Mirror’, mentioning his disappointment over the film’s flop.

In this, Sonam Kapoor has also mentioned an incident. She revealed that she met Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra for the first time during the screening of Rang De Basanti.

Sonam Kapoor wrote, she was happy to have her next film ‘Delhi-6’, September 2007. This film was received before the release of his first film ‘Saawariya’.

Sonam was very thin at that time and Rakeysh Omprakash wanted to make her a little fat. That’s why he gave many chocolates everyday.

Sonam told that her most favorite scene was that in which a pigeon was sitting on her head, it also became a symbol of the film in a way. She told that the pigeon was to sit on her shoulder, but the pigeon sat on her head.

Sonam played the character of Bittu in the film. There were also many scenes of Delhi Metro in the film. Sonam said about this that shooting in Metro was disappointing for her as there was no bathroom or changing room in it. The book reads, “There was no dressing room in the metro. Two people used to hold the curtains and I would change for the next shot.”
