Parwana: Aditya Roy Kapur and Tara Sutaria’s first film together
Milap Zaveri's intense musical love story Parwana pairs Aditya Roy Kapur and Tara Sutaria for the first time and is dedicated to Sanjay Gupta.

Aditya Roy Kapur and Tara Sutaria’s first film together finally has a name: Parwana. Milap Zaveri is directing the project, which has been described as an intense musical love story and a fresh on-screen pairing for the two actors.
A first-time pairing, with music at the centre
For Tara Sutaria, Parwana is also a reunion: she last worked with Milap Zaveri on the 2019 film Marjaavaan. For Aditya Roy Kapur, it is a new director and a new co-star. The makers are positioning the film around an intense romantic narrative, with music playing a central role in the storytelling.
Why the title carries a personal tribute
The announcement is more than a title reveal. Milap Zaveri met filmmaker Sanjay Gupta roughly ten days before Gupta passed away, and the two discussed the project. When Zaveri shared the title, Gupta’s reaction tied it to his own family history.
“We met 10 days ago and I told you the title of my next film. And you jumped in joy and said ‘Milap. The original film with the same title was produced by my father!”
Zaveri added, “The joy I felt at that moment and the pride you felt in me is indescribable,” while confirming that he would dedicate the film to his “Guruji.”
A bond built over decades
Sanjay Gupta played a formative role in Milap Zaveri’s journey as a writer and filmmaker. Their collaborations stretch back through some of Bollywood’s most stylised action films:
- Kaante, where Zaveri worked as a dialogue writer
- Musafir
- Shootout At Lokhandwala
- Shootout At Wadala
That history gives Parwana an emotional weight before a single frame is shot. For fans, the title is the first concrete detail of a project that pairs two popular stars and carries a mentor’s memory.
What to watch for next
The next reveals will matter just as much: the music team, the cast additions and the release window. Until then, Parwana sits on the 2026 slate as a title with both a genre promise and a personal backstory.
