Ed Sheeran Records His First Bollywood Song for SRK’s King
Ed Sheeran has recorded his first Bollywood verse for Tu Mil Jaaye from Shah Rukh Khan's King. The track with Arijit Singh is out now.

Ed Sheeran has recorded his first Bollywood song, and the story behind it is a reminder that Shah Rukh Khan plays the long game. The global pop star has sung a Hindi verse on Tu Mil Jaaye, a track from Khan’s upcoming action thriller King. He announced the collaboration with studio footage and a note laying out exactly how the recording came to be.
The long pitch behind a one-night studio session
In his note, Ed Sheeran says Shah Rukh Khan made the ask years ago: when they first met, Khan told him he should create a song for one of his films, and that it would double as Ed’s first Bollywood song. The two stayed in touch. On a later India trip, Ed visited Khan’s home to film a cameo for the Sapphire music video with Arijit Singh. That same day, Khan introduced him to composers Sachin-Jigar. Ed wrote and recorded his Hindi verse that night.
“I love that Arijit is singing on it with me too, all my favourite people on one project,” Ed Sheeran wrote.

- The film: King is directed by Siddharth Anand and arrives in cinemas on December 24, 2026.
- The cast: Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Jaideep Ahlawat, Arshad Warsi, Raghav Juyal and Abhay Verma are among the ensemble.
Why a global voice matters for King
This is not simply a feature credit. An Ed Sheeran verse pulls his international streaming audience into a Hindi film track, giving King a broader first-week conversation outside the usual Bollywood circuit. At the same time, Arijit Singh’s presence keeps the song anchored for the domestic audience. The pairing is a crossover built to travel in both directions: global listeners discover King, while Hindi film fans get a new Ed Sheeran moment.
For Ed, the song closes a loop he says began with Khan’s early nudge. He has now sung in Hindi for a Bollywood project for the first time, and he framed it as a personal favourite: all the people he wanted on one track. That backstory is likely to become part of the song’s rollout, not just a footnote.
