Orry says he can’t stay friends with Sara Ali Khan without an apology
On Double Date, Orry explains his childhood bond with Sara Ali Khan, why he felt unsupported, and the apology he says never came.

Orry’s latest appearance on Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi’s chat show Double Date has put one of Bollywood’s quiet friendship breakups back in the spotlight. Speaking alongside Yogesh Rawat, Orry talked about why he prioritises real connection over camera-friendly friendships.
Orry said he chases genuine friendship and is not interested in maintaining a bond that lacks sincerity. “I do not want to maintain a friendship that is not genuine,” he said.
What Orry said about the fallout
Asked to name the most famous person he has blocked, unfollowed or muted, Orry pointed to Sara Ali Khan and her mother, Amrita Singh. He said his bond with Sara went back to childhood and college, and that he stayed close to her during a difficult chapter in Goa.
“We were childhood friends, and we went to college together,” Orry recalled. He said that when Sara was dealing with what he called a very big case, he stayed by her side even though people around him advised him to step away.
The hurt, he explained, came later. Orry alleged that when he was going through his own rough phase, Sara did not reach out. For him, the issue was not one missed call but the absence of support from someone he believed he had always backed.
He also said that Amrita Singh had scolded him, and that the episode contributed to his decision to unfollow her. “If I pretend to be friends with her now, that means whatever her mother did to me, whatever she spoke about me to everyone else, that means she is okay with it,” he said. “And I never got any apology. I can’t stay friends with her.”
A wider pattern of support
Orry connected the Sara chapter to a bigger feeling he had during Khatron Ke Khiladi. He said the show was mentally and physically demanding, and he was hurt that people he considered his best friends did not share a story or even like a post while he was competing.
At the same time, he drew a line between public friendships and private ones. He said his closest relationships, including those with Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor, are personal. They do not always need to be documented, he explained.
That distinction matters to fans because it separates simply being in the same celebrity circle from showing up when something difficult is happening.
What fans can take from it
- Orry says he stood by Sara during a difficult period and expected the same loyalty in return.
- He felt unsupported by close friends during his Khatron Ke Khiladi stint.
- He now says reconciliation with Sara is difficult without a direct apology or resolution.
Orry’s account is one side of a private story, and Sara has not publicly responded. But the interview gives audiences a rare look at how personal expectations and public visibility collide when friendships between celebrities break down.
