Shah Rukh Khan Turns 61, Sneaks Out for King Sea Link Display
Shah Rukh Khan turns 61 as Mumbai's Sea Link gets a King-themed display, and he sneaks out to see it before a midnight asset reveal.

Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday has long been a city-wide event, but this year it has escalated into a full-blown film campaign. A day before he turns 61, Mumbai’s Bandra-Worli Sea Link was illuminated with a King-themed display, and the actor decided he could not just scroll past the pictures — he drove out to see the installation himself.
The superstar shared a photograph from the drive on social media, thanking fans and Google Gemini in the same breath. “Dost ho toh Google Gemini jaisa.. Thank you for the KING-sized love always…. had to sneak out for a drive to get this photo ha ha..,” he wrote.
A midnight reveal turns birthday buzz into a launch moment
The Sea Link takeover is only the first beat. A special asset from King is expected at the stroke of midnight on November 2, timed to land exactly when conversation around the star peaks. Outside Mannat, Shah Rukh Khan’s Mumbai residence, a large display has already been set up for the fans who gather there every year.
The calendar makes the moment bigger. By placing the reveal on his birthday, the campaign gives King an entire day of organic fan chatter — and gives fans a visual they are likely to photograph, remix and share as their own tribute.
What King brings to the table
Directed by Siddharth Anand, King reunites him with Shah Rukh Khan after their blockbuster Pathaan. The ensemble is one of the biggest on the 2026 calendar:
- Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan
- Deepika Padukone and Abhishek Bachchan
- Rani Mukerji, Jaideep Ahlawat, Abhay Verma and Raghav Juyal
Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures are producing the film, which is booked for a December 24, 2026 theatrical release. Filmfare separately reports that King has already set a record for its overseas theatrical rights, underlining how high expectations are running internationally for the Christmas-frame title.
What fans can do next
If you are in Mumbai, the Sea Link stretch and Mannat are the two places to watch tonight. Everyone else can keep an eye on Shah Rukh Khan’s socials at midnight for the promised King asset, and save the date for December 24, when the film arrives in cinemas.
The birthday ritual, in other words, is now part of the movie’s rollout — and for once, the star himself is outside with his camera.
