Chiranjeevi-Srikanth Odela film reportedly shelved after Paradise

Reports say the Chiranjeevi-Srikanth Odela action drama presented by Nani has been called off, though no official word has confirmed the move yet.

Chiranjeevi-Srikanth Odela film reportedly shelved

The Chiranjeevi and Srikanth Odela collaboration, tentatively titled ChiruOdela, may not make it to the sets. Fresh reports say the action drama has been shelved, weeks after Odela’s latest release, The Paradise, underperformed.

What the reports say

According to a report by Let’s Cinema, the proposed film — expected to be presented by Nani — has been dropped. The project was being talked about as a gritty, raw action entertainer, the kind of pivot that could have given Chiranjeevi a darker screen register.

The makers are yet to issue an official statement. Nani had recently indicated that the film was not moving at the pace they originally expected, which has added to the uncertainty. For now, that leaves the door open to either a quiet pause or a complete cancellation.

The Paradise after-effect

Odela’s latest, The Paradise, stars Nani as Jadal, a man fighting for his community’s rights and identity against an oppressive ruler. The film also features Mohan Babu, Raghav Juyal, Kayadu Lohar, Sonali Kulkarni, and Sampoornesh Babu.

Despite its ambitious premise, the film drew mixed-to-negative responses and did not perform as hoped at the box office. Odela is now expected to move on to a romantic film.

What Chiranjeevi has lined up

Fans still have plenty to track, even if this collaboration stays frozen.

  • Kaaka — an action thriller directed by Bobby Kolli, set for January 13, 2027, during Sankranti. It co-stars Anaswara Rajan and is produced by Venkat K. Narayana under KVN Productions.
  • Vishwambhara — a fantasy action film directed by Mallidi Vassishta, co-starring Trisha Krishnan and Ashika Ranganath, now awaiting a release date update.
  • Reports also suggest Chiranjeevi is expected to host a chat show for Netflix.

Why this matters

A Chiranjeevi-Odela pairing would have been a headline event in Telugu cinema. When a director’s previous film stumbles, the fate of the next big project often becomes a public gauge of how the industry reads that failure. Here, the reading appears cautious: Nani’s pace concerns and the absence of an official confirmation suggest the project has lost momentum more than it has been formally buried.

For now, fans should treat the shelving as report-driven rather than confirmed. Until the makers speak, the only reliable updates are the ones attached to Chiranjeevi’s announced slate.
