Sara Ali Khan’s 30-Minute Kedarnath Queue Amid Affidavit Debate
Sara Ali Khan reportedly joined the regular queue at Kedarnath, waiting about 30 minutes in snowfall, as questions swirl over the proposed Sanatan affidavit.

Sara Ali Khan’s relationship with Kedarnath has always felt personal. Around October 25, it became public again — this time with the actor reportedly queuing like any other devotee in snowfall and cold weather.
She is said to have reached the temple by helicopter and then waited approximately 30 minutes in the regular darshan queue. Reports say she took part in puja and aarti and did not ask for special treatment.
A winter queue, not a VIP line
The details are small but loaded: a film star, a helicopter arrival, and then a queue in the snow with everyone else. BollywoodHungama reports that Sara waited around 30 minutes despite the weather.
- Reached Kedarnath by helicopter around October 25
- Joined the regular queue with other devotees
- Waited roughly 30 minutes in snowfall
- Offered prayers and participated in aarti
- No special treatment was reported
For our readers who follow stars as closely as films, the point is not where she landed but what she did after: she stayed in line.
Why this visit landed in a debate
The trip drew extra attention because of a proposal the Badri-Kedar Temple Committee approved in March 2026. Under that proposal, non-Hindus wanting to visit Kedarnath and Badrinath could be asked to submit a written affidavit affirming their faith in Sanatan Dharma. The recommendation has been forwarded to the Uttarakhand government.
Sara’s name came up in that conversation because she has been a frequent visitor to the shrine, and because her 2018 debut film Kedarnath was shot in the region. BKTC chairman Hemant Dwivedi was quoted as saying, “If she says that she has belief in Sanatan and submits an affidavit, we will allow her for darshan.”
What remains unanswered
Here is the part to be careful with: no public confirmation exists on whether Sara submitted any affidavit before entering the temple. Her visit, on its own, does not tell us whether the proposed requirement has been implemented or what arrangements were followed in her case.
So the images are what they are — a familiar face at a shrine she has returned to for years — not proof of a new entry rule.
If you are travelling
The affidavit proposal is still a proposal, not a confirmed rule. If Kedarnath or Badrinath is on your list, check the temple committee and Uttarakhand government’s latest entry guidelines before you travel. Do not assume the affidavit is mandatory yet, and do not read this visit as confirmation either.
Sara was recently seen in Udta Teer, the spy comedy with Ayushmann Khurrana that released in theatres on October 23, 2026. Her Kedarnath story, though, remains older and quieter than any film weekend.
