Ganesh Acharya Pens Debut Song Kar Mehnat with Sonu Nigam

Ganesh Acharya debuts as a lyricist with the motivational song Kar Mehnat, sung by Sonu Nigam, ahead of Ganesh: Dust to Stardust's December 11 release.

Ganesh Acharya writes his first lyrics for Sonu Nigam song

Ganesh Acharya has built his name across choreography, acting and filmmaking. Now he is stepping into a new creative lane: he has written the lyrics for Kar Mehnat, an inspirational song from his upcoming directorial Ganesh: Dust to Stardust.

A first for the choreographer-filmmaker

The track, sung by Sonu Nigam and composed by Junaid Kumar, is Acharya’s first attempt at songwriting. It arrives ahead of the film’s theatrical release on December 11, 2026, and leans on a message of persistence and self-belief.

“I have always believed that there is no substitute for hard work,” Acharya said.

He added that the song is for every person who is working towards something, and that having Sonu Nigam voice his words makes the moment more special.

What the song brings

Sonu Nigam said the song’s message and simplicity appealed to him. He pointed to the sincerity of the lyrics and the everyday emotions they carry.

“What I particularly liked was the sincerity of the lyrics,” Nigam said.

That pairing—Acharya’s first lyrics and Nigam’s voice—sets up Kar Mehnat as the emotional centrepiece of the film’s music.

The team behind Ganesh: Dust to Stardust

The film is written and directed by Ganesh Acharya and produced by Soundarya Acharya under V2S Production & Entertainment. Digangana Suryavanshi and Acharya have written the screenplay and dialogues, while Junaid Kumar handles music and background score.

The lyrics team also includes Sameer Anjaan, with Ajay Pandey as cinematographer, Rakesh Ram as editor, and Amrish Yamanappa Patange and Daya Vanniyar of Red Ameise on production design. Choreography is by Acharya and his team.

For fans of Bollywood music, Kar Mehnat offers an early taste of how personal Ganesh: Dust to Stardust may feel—and a rare chance to hear a choreographer’s words carried by one of the industry’s most recognisable voices.
