11 South Films Hit Theatres This Week: From 418 to Titans
A packed South Indian slate brings 11 films to theatres on October 22 and 23: horror, sci-fi, romance, comedy and the Jayasurya-Vinayakan pairing.

If you thought the big-screen calendar was about to slow down, South Indian cinema has other plans. A crowded release week brings 11 new films to theatres across four languages, with genres scattered from horror and sci-fi to romance and comedy.
The 11 South Indian films opening this week
Titans, starring Jayasurya and Vinayakan, opens first on October 22, 2026. The other ten titles land a day later, on October 23, 2026.
- 418 (Telugu, horror thriller) — produced by Prashanth Neel; a group of students opens a sealed room and faces supernatural events.
- Udumbanchola Vision (Malayalam, thriller drama) — an ambitious village album designer revives a local cable channel and uncovers media power games.
- 321 [Love Marriage Vs Arranged] (Telugu, romantic comedy drama) — a love-marriage believer and an arranged-marriage advocate fall for each other.
- Haiku (Tamil, romantic drama) — a young man studies in a women’s college and expresses his feelings through haiku poetry.
- Shabari (Kannada, family drama) — a vintage jeep owner forms a father-daughter bond and fights to protect a young girl.
- Orijinal (Malayalam, sci-fi comedy thriller) — officers search a forest where a supernatural force resets time.
- Vidiyum Kaathiru (Tamil, supernatural thriller) — two officers guard a house where a doctor’s family was involved in a brutal event.
- Crime 302 (Malayalam, thriller) — a researcher traces forensic evidence after an incident involving a prominent businessman.
- Delivery Boy (Tamil, action drama) — a food delivery executive steals for his mother’s treatment and uncovers a larger conspiracy.
- Titans (Malayalam, fantasy comedy thriller) — an outlaw and his roommate plan a heist that spirals into a battle between angels and demons.
- Titanic (Tamil, romantic comedy) — two men’s Chennai-to-Bengaluru road trip turns into romantic misadventures.
Why this slate stands out
The biggest marquee name is Prashanth Neel, who is attached to 418 as a producer rather than director. That brings a known blockbuster name to a Telugu horror thriller — one of the more intriguing left turns on the list. The source synopsis says the supernatural mystery deepens when a pregnant woman, Devika, enters the story.
Titans is the other immediate draw. Jayasurya and Vinayakan are a rare pairing: one known for nimble comic timing, the other for an unpredictable screen presence. Add a heist plot that reportedly collides with angels and demons, and it is one of the more unusual Malayalam entries of the week.
Fans of Sreenath Bhasi get a double bill, since he appears in both Udumbanchola Vision and Orijinal. The latter is the clearest sci-fi pick, with a time-loop premise inside a forest on the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border.
How to plan your movie weekend
Start with Titans if you want the early show on October 22. For horror, 418 is the obvious choice; for a time-loop puzzle, pick Orijinal; for family viewing, Kannada’s Shabari may fit. The language split is useful for planning: four Tamil films, four Malayalam films, two Telugu releases and one Kannada title make up the 11.
Check local screens before booking, because showtimes and language options tend to vary by city and circuit.
