Nayyi Navelli At Rs 6.75 Crore In 2 Days, Weekend Target 10 Cr

Yami Gautam's Nayyi Navelli added Rs 3.75 crore on Day 2, taking its two-day India total to Rs 6.75 crore ahead of a crucial Monday test.

Nayyi Navelli hits Rs 6.75 crore in two days

Yami Gautam Dhar’s Nayyi Navelli found a little more momentum on its second day in cinemas. The horror-comedy collected Rs 3.75 crore nett on Saturday, a 25 per cent spike over its opening day, taking its early India total to Rs 6.75 crore nett, according to trade estimates shared by Pinkvilla.

Sunday is expected to deliver one more push, and the film is currently targeting a first-weekend close around the Rs 10 crore nett mark. The film is performing better than Yami Gautam’s previous release, HAQ, though that comparison is a relative one: the baseline remains modest.

Why Monday is the real test

Box office tracking often changes once the first Monday arrives, and that is especially true here. Nayyi Navelli has drawn mixed reactions from audiences, which makes the weekday hold the clearest signal of whether word of mouth can carry the film beyond its opening frame.

  • Day 2: Rs 3.75 crore nett
  • Two-day total: Rs 6.75 crore nett
  • Weekend target: Rs 10 crore nett
  • Next marker: Monday’s hold

Trade watchers are paying close attention to how sharply the film drops once ticket prices and weekend footfall normalise. For a mid-sized theatrical release, that first weekday can reveal whether the audience verdict is strong enough to sustain a run or whether the opening was front-loaded.

What the film is about

Set in Meerut, Nayyi Navelli centres on a family that gains peace and prosperity after a mysterious new bride enters the home, but her apparent miracles soon make some members suspect she may be a witch. As strange events unfold, the film asks whether she is an evil force or a protector caught in a larger battle between good and evil.

Yami Gautam Dhar leads the cast alongside Adinath Kothare, Mita Vashisht, Sonal Jha, Sunita Rajwar, Rajesh Dubey, Aaditya Kulshreshth and Prateek Pachauri. The film is directed by Balaji Mohan, written by Himanshu Sharma and Divy Nidhi Sharma, and produced by Himanshu Sharma and Aanand L Rai. GV Prakash Kumar has composed the music, with cinematography by Rishi Punjabi and editing by Sumeet Kotian.

For now, the story on the ground is simple: the weekend target looks reachable, but the Monday number will decide whether Nayyi Navelli has a chance at a longer shelf life.
