Hanuman Ansh hits ₹316 cr in 70 days, eyes ₹325 cr finish

Hanuman Ansh has turned its tenth week into another milestone. According to trade figures collated by Pinkvilla, the Neem Karoli Baba devotional drama recorded the biggest Week 10 in Indian box office history, adding more than ₹4.75 crore nett in the frame.

That late-stage hold is unusual. By the tenth week, most films are relying on stray shows and festival re-runs; Hanuman Ansh is still pulling audiences. Its 70-day Indian total now stands at ₹316.25 crore nett, before the newly released Telugu version is counted.

A record week, and a second language joins in

The Telugu dub arrived last week and contributed roughly ₹4 crore nett on its own. Combined with the Hindi-led run, that momentum has trade trackers expecting a final total near ₹325 crore.

Pinkvilla’s numbers treat the Telugu cume separately for now, which makes the ₹316.25 crore figure all the more striking. Even before the southern-language release is folded in, the Vishal Chaturvedi film has delivered one of the strongest box-office multiples in recent memory.

Why this run matters for the genre

The scale of the success goes beyond one film. Hanuman Ansh opened as a faith-led story and has now outlasted many bigger, more hyped releases. The makers have already confirmed a sequel, and Pinkvilla notes that several devotional projects have moved into production on the back of this wave.

The result is a simple proof point: devotional cinema, when it connects, can generate both long legs and prestige. The challenge is that not every film in the genre will carry the same cultural moment.

The numbers at a glance

  • Week 10: over ₹4.75 crore nett, the biggest Week 10 on record
  • 70-day cume: ₹316.25 crore nett, excluding Telugu
  • Telugu dub: around ₹4 crore nett in its opening frame
  • Projected finish: approximately ₹325 crore

That longevity matters because it changes how the industry reads devotional cinema. A big opening can be manufactured with screens and holidays; a Week 10 record cannot. It signals that audiences are returning and bringing new viewers, which is exactly the behaviour studios want before a sequel.

For the audience that tracks stars as closely as films, the sequel announcement is the headline. But the longer-term story is staying power: the film is still setting records two and a half months after release, and that is rare even for the biggest hits.

The coming weeks will show whether it reaches the projected ₹325 crore mark. Either way, Hanuman Ansh has already changed the conversation around devotional releases.
