Arijit Singh’s Phir Se Enters Grammy Consideration
Arijit Singh's Phir Se from Dhurandhar: The Revenge has entered Grammy consideration for Best Song Written for Visual Media.

Arijit Singh has a new reason to celebrate as 2026 winds down. His song Phir Se from Dhurandhar: The Revenge has entered Grammy consideration in the Best Song Written for Visual Media category, putting him and the film’s music team into a global conversation months before the official nominations are decided.
The singer kept his announcement simple on Instagram, writing in part: “Thank you for all the love.” That short message hides a fairly big step: a song from a Hindi film is now in front of the Recording Academy’s screening process.
Consideration is not a nomination
It’s worth being clear about the difference. Entering Grammy consideration means the track has been submitted for a category and will be reviewed; it does not guarantee a place on the nominations list, which comes later. For fans, this is the early stage of a process that can end at the Grammys or stop at the submission door.
This is also not a one-song push. T-Series and B62 Studios have submitted the full Dhurandhar: The Revenge soundtrack for consideration in multiple categories. Alongside Phir Se, other tracks in the running include:
- Aari Aari
- Jaan Se Guzarte Hain
- Kanhaiyya
- Jaiye Sajana
The song that closes the film
Phir Se is not just a promotional single. Composed by Shashwat Sachdev and written by Irshad Kamil, it arrives during the film’s closing moments, when Ranveer Singh’s character, Jaskirat Singh Rangi, returns home after his mission in Pakistan. That placement gives the track a specific emotional job: it has to land the story’s final feeling.
The backstory adds to that weight. As reported, the melody began almost accidentally. Director Aditya Dhar remembered a tune Sachdev had hummed on set and reminded him of it after a temple visit, and that small moment eventually became the finished song. Arijit is said to have been emotional while recording it, which is easy to hear in the final performance.
Why this matters for Arijit and for Bollywood
Arijit has spent more than a decade as one of Hindi film music’s most consistent voices, building an international audience through playback hits. A Grammy consideration adds another marker to that resume, but it also matters for the film. Dhurandhar: The Revenge has already crossed massive numbers at the box office, and the continued attention on its music keeps the film in the conversation after its theatrical run.
The film’s soundtrack has drawn praise for the way Sachdev’s layered compositions and Kamil’s lyrics move between high-energy action tracks and quieter, reflective numbers. Phir Se is the emotional anchor of that mix, and the Grammy consideration gives it a longer global tail.
The next checkpoint is official nominations. Until the Recording Academy announces its shortlist, the phrase “under consideration” remains exactly that. For now, the song has cleared the first barrier: it is in the room.
