Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 moves to March 5, 2027
Anupam Kher and Boman Irani's cult sequel shifts from August 28, 2026 to March 5, 2027, reuniting the original Khosla family and adding two new faces.

Fans waiting for the Khosla family’s return will have to hold on a little longer. Khosla Ka Ghosla 2, the sequel to the 2006 Dibakar Banerjee comedy, has moved out of its August 28, 2026 slot and will now open in theatres on March 5, 2027.
The new date, straight from the makers
The team shared the update on social media with a fresh poster. Its announcement led with “Deal पक्की!” — a Hindi phrase that translates roughly to “deal confirmed,” a wink at the original film’s property-obsessed plot. The poster confirmed the new date and let the marketing do the talking: the Khoslas are ready to take over cinemas in March 2027.
The family is back, mostly intact
Anupam Kher and Boman Irani lead the sequel, and the new poster confirms that the original family is largely returning. Tara Sharma, Ranvir Shorey, Kiran Juneja and Parvin Dabas are back in their roles. Ravi Kishan and Divya Khosla Kumar join the cast, adding star power beyond the returning ensemble.
- Old release date: August 28, 2026
- New release date: March 5, 2027
- Returning cast: Kher, Irani, Sharma, Shorey, Juneja, Dabas
- New faces: Ravi Kishan, Divya Khosla Kumar
Why the sequel matters
The original Khosla Ka Ghosla followed a middle-class family trying to reclaim a plot of land taken through fraud. Its humour came from everyday family squabbles, small-time schemes and the frustration of dealing with a powerful property dealer. The film became a word-of-mouth favourite and has only grown in stature as a cult classic.
In January this year, Anupam Kher marked a schedule wrap by saying he had completed around 90% of his work on the film. He called the experience “exhausting but an EXHILARATING experience” and wrote: “This is going to be an EPIC sequel to an OG #CultClassic! This time the con is bigger than the biggest!”
What the delay changes
The announcement did not offer a reason for the move. For fans, it pushes a long-awaited reunion from late summer 2026 into spring 2027. For the team, it opens up a longer promotional runway ahead of the new March 5 opening. The task now is to keep the cult-classic energy warm through the extra wait.
For many viewers, the wait is part of the nostalgia. The original’s charm was in its middle-class details, and the sequel’s job is to recapture that without losing its own shape. No trailer date was mentioned along with the new poster.
