Drishyam The Conclusion Outruns Drishyam 2 by 65.7% in Weekend 2
Ajay Devgn's Drishyam The Conclusion posted a Rs 65 crore second weekend, 65.7% ahead of Drishyam 2, after a Rs 174 crore opening.

Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam The Conclusion is no longer just outperforming Drishyam 2—it is resetting the franchise’s box-office scale. The latest chapter collected Rs 65 crore in its second weekend, between October 9 and October 11, a figure roughly 65.7 per cent higher than the Rs 39.24 crore Drishyam 2 managed in the same window.
A 65.7 per cent lead in the second weekend is telling because it measures repeat and late-audience pull rather than the first-day rush. The new film’s biggest day in that spell was Saturday, which points to broad weekend moviegoing.
The weekend split, day by day
The new film earned Rs 14.50 crore on Friday, Rs 26.17 crore on Saturday and Rs 24.33 crore on Sunday. Drishyam 2’s second-weekend run was smaller at every mark: Rs 7.87 crore on its second Friday, Rs 14.05 crore on Saturday and Rs 17.32 crore on Sunday.
On a like-for-like basis, The Conclusion was up about 84 per cent on Friday, about 86 per cent on Saturday and about 40 per cent on Sunday. The overall second-weekend gain works out to just under two-thirds.
A wider lead from the opening frame
The gap was visible from day one. Drishyam The Conclusion opened at Rs 174 crore, while Drishyam 2 recorded Rs 64.14 crore in its opening weekend. First-week totals tell the same story: Rs 242 crore for the new film versus Rs 104.66 crore for the previous instalment.
- Opening weekend: Rs 174 crore vs Rs 64.14 crore
- First week: Rs 242 crore vs Rs 104.66 crore
- Second weekend: Rs 65 crore vs Rs 39.24 crore
- Drishyam 2 lifetime: Rs 240.54 crore
The Rs 242 crore first week for Drishyam The Conclusion has already moved past the Rs 240.54 crore Drishyam 2 earned in its entire theatrical run.
What this says about franchise growth
Sequels do not automatically grow; they often open on goodwill and then settle lower. Drishyam The Conclusion has avoided that pattern in its first two weekends because the previous film did the heavy lifting of expanding the fan base. The result is a like-for-like lead that is more than just a strong opening—it is a franchise stepping into a bigger commercial league.
Why the weekdays now matter
Weekend figures grab the attention, but Monday-to-Thursday holds decide whether this lead widens into a truly exceptional total. Drishyam 2 had staying power, but The Conclusion is operating on a much larger base.
For fans, the signal is clear: the franchise has grown from a well-liked thriller into an event release. The next checkpoint is how much the film adds between its second Monday and third Friday, since that will show whether it can go far beyond a strong opening phase.
