The Vvaan nets Rs 61 crore in 14 days; finish near Rs 65 crore

Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia’s The Vvaan is in its final theatrical lap, and the box-office picture is now largely settled. The film added Rs 65 lakh on its second Thursday, taking week two to Rs 11.35 crore and the 14-day India nett cume to Rs 61.10 crore.

The numbers put the film on track to finish its entire run around the Rs 65 crore mark, a result the trade is calling decent for a title that entered cinemas with no pre-release expectations.

A 75 per cent slide, with context

The second-week total is roughly 75 per cent lower than the opening week. That sounds alarming on paper, but the context matters more than the percentage. Much of the slowdown came after Drishyam: The Conclusion arrived and captured screens and audience attention.

For a mid-sized film, holding above Rs 60 crore after two weeks is the difference between quietly respectable and forgotten. The Vvaan has landed on the right side of that line, even if a Clean Hit verdict is now out of reach.

  • Second Thursday: Rs 65 lakh
  • Week two cume: Rs 11.35 crore
  • 14-day total: Rs 61.10 crore nett
  • Expected lifetime: around Rs 65 crore

What a Clean Hit actually means

In trade language, a Clean Hit is a comfortable win: a film that recovers its costs and gives everyone in the chain reason to celebrate. The Vvaan will likely fall short of that label, but it has not embarrassed itself. By current projections, it will finish near Rs 65 crore, a number that looked unlikely before release.

The story on screen

Directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, of Panchayat fame, The Vvaan: Force of the Forest follows Rishi, an engineer who returns to his ancestral village in Bihar with his wife to settle a family property dispute. A development project soon threatens a sacred forest, pulling him into a centuries-old mystery and a larger responsibility to protect his village.

Alongside the leads, the ensemble includes Anup Soni, Sunil Grover, Shweta Tiwari and Maniesh Paul.

Why the final number matters

For fans, the Rs 61 crore-and-counting run shows a rooted, star-led film can still find an audience without a massive event release. For the trade, the Rs 65 crore projection is a sobering but useful data point: it is enough to avoid disaster and not enough to change the film’s narrative.

With Drishyam: The Conclusion now dominating the conversation, The Vvaan is leaving cinemas quietly, doing exactly what it needed to do.
