Ritvik Sahore on Full-Circle Prahaar Moment with Rajkummar Rao

Ritvik Sahore recalls meeting Rajkummar Rao at the Stree success party, then playing his son in Prahaar and recreating their old photo.

Ritvik Sahore: From Fan Photo to Rajkummar Rao's On-Screen Son

Ritvik Sahore has grown up in front of the camera, but his latest film moment started with a fan photograph. The actor, who began as a child performer in titles like Ferrari Ki Sawaari and Dangal, says working with Rajkummar Rao in the upcoming film Prahaar felt like life bending back on itself.

A party, a photo and a quiet wish

Years ago, Sahore attended the success party of Stree with his close friend Aparshakti Khurana. It was there that he spotted Rajkummar Rao, an actor he had admired for years, and gathered the courage to ask for a picture. By his own account, he was shy but hopeful. The thought stayed with him: he hoped he could one day work with Rao.

Now that wish has turned into a role. Sahore has been cast as Rao’s son in Prahaar, and he describes the casting as a special experience built on more than just a shared set.

What watching a co-star switch on teaches

Sahore says Rao was warm and funny between takes, but the transformation when filming began stayed with him. As Sahore recalled, the actor would be joking around one moment and then step into Ujjwal Nikam as soon as the camera rolled.

“He’d be joking around and having fun on set, and the moment the camera came on, he’d just become Ujjwal Nikam. That was really inspiring to see,” he said.

For young performers, that is often where the real learning happens: watching a seasoned actor move from casual to complete focus, without losing the lightness off camera.

The photo that came full circle

The old fan photo became a small part of their history. After Sahore told Rao about the picture from the Stree party, Rao suggested recreating it on the sets of Prahaar. They did, and Sahore calls the moment genuinely full circle.

  • The film: Prahaar, where Sahore plays Rajkummar Rao’s son.
  • The spark: A photo with Rao at a Stree success party, years before they shared a screen.
  • The next chapter: Sahore also joins Rao in Dada, where Rao plays Sourav Ganguly.

Why the story lands with fans

Audiences often see only the finished performance. A detail like this shows the off-camera equation that can shape a scene. Sahore’s description of Rao as warm first and intense only when the camera demands it makes the on-screen intensity feel like craft rather than mood.

It also gives Prahaar a soft, shareable introduction. Before a trailer or a release date is debated, there is already a real human moment between the two actors. In Dada, Sahore is reportedly set to play a noted cricketer, though the makers have not revealed which one. The collaboration, he says, is “the cherry on top.”
