Drishyam 3 crosses ₹229.96 crore despite midweek dip
Ajay Devgn's Drishyam 3 added ₹12.96 crore on day six and held double digits, taking its India net total to ₹229.96 crore by 10 pm.

Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 3 kept its box-office run steady on the first Wednesday after release, even as collections cooled from a mammoth opening weekend. The Abhishek Pathak thriller added ₹12.96 crore net across India on day six, according to tracking platform Sacnilk.
That is the lowest single-day figure of the film’s run so far, but it still lands in double digits on a weekday—a sign that the threequel is holding beyond the initial fan rush.
Where the total stands
By 10 pm on Wednesday, the film’s India net total had reached ₹229.96 crore. The day-six number looks modest next to the ₹66.75 crore opening day, so here is the context:
- Drishyam 3 delivered the third-biggest opening day for a Hindi film ever.
- The first day was Ajay Devgn’s career-best opening.
- The film crossed ₹100 crore in its first two days.
- Advance bookings added ₹27 crore before release.
Why the midweek number matters
After a weekend of ₹66.75 crore, ₹53.50 crore and ₹61 crore, a slowdown was expected once the working week began. The real test was always the weekday hold, and Drishyam 3 has stayed in double digits. That matters for a franchise built on a twist: audiences are not only turning up for opening weekend, but also finding the film in the days that follow.
The threequel has already outpaced first-weekend collections of films such as War and Tiger 3, and it has beaten the lifetime business of Awarapan 2, according to the Sacnilk update carried by Hindustan Times.
The ending was guarded like a Salgaonkar secret
Drishyam 3 is a sequel to the 2022 hit Drishyam 2, and it features an ending different from its Malayalam counterpart. In an interview with Free Press Journal, writer Aamil Keeyan Khan said director Abhishek Pathak protected the story the way the franchise’s protagonist would have.
“Abhishek basically ran the production like Vijay Salgaonkar would,” Khan said. He added that the climax was not shared with much of the crew, and that departments were briefed on a need-to-know basis—some knew only what a scene required, not why it was being executed.
What comes next
The film stars Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Jaideep Ahlawat, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Prakash Raj, Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav. It is currently among the highest-grossing Hindi films of 2026, and it will soon have Mirzapur, Hanuman Ansh, Border 2 and Dhurandhar: The Revenge to contend with. If the weekday hold continues, Drishyam 3 will remain in the conversation as one of the year’s biggest theatrical stories.
