Akshay Kumar has stated that he really is upset that he is being pushed to justify his love for India, and no one should ever care about his Canadian citizenship.
Akshay Kumar, an actor, has replied to questions over his Canadian citizenship . Because he is a Canadian citizen, Akshay did not vote in the Lok Sabha elections. He is known for patriotic and socially meaningful films. In a Twitter message, the actor stated that the problem should be ‘of no significance to others,’ and that he would continue to support causes that he believes in and work to strengthen the country.
He wrote, “I really don’t understand the unwarranted interest and negativity about my citizenship. I have never hidden or denied that I hold a Canadian passport. It is also equally true that I have not visited Canada in the last seven years. I work in India, and pay all my taxes in India. While all these years, I have never needed to prove my love for India to anyone, I find it disappointing that my citizenship issue is constantly dragged into needless controversy, a matter that is personal, legal, non-political, and of no consequence to others. Lastly, I would like to continue contributing in my small way to the causes that I believe in and make India stronger and stronger.”
Fans have long debated Akshay Kumar’s citizenship, but the matter recently reached a fever pitch after Akshay had a “non-political interview” with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
When questioned more recently about just the predicament wherein he finds himself, which prevents him from participating in elections, he declined to comment. “About the Canadian thing, I am an honorary citizen,” he remarked in a 2017 interview with Times Now. An honorary title has been bestowed upon me. It’s something I believe people to be proud of. I, too, hold an honorary doctorate, since I’m not a physician. This is what people must comprehend.”
