Phool Aur Kaante: All you should know about this Bollywood Movie

Phool Aur Kaante

We all remember Ajay Devgn split standing on two bikes, blowing love to females when he entered his college when Phool Aur Kaante was spoken. That’s still, without a doubt, one of Bollywood’s greatest opening sequences. Devgn may have done similar things in his subsequent films (on vehicles and horses), and this was unique. It was his launching pad, so it marked the beginning of his ascension to celebrity.

Phool Aur Kaante is a typical 90s Movie, as well as its biggest hits “Maine Pyaar Tumhi Se Kiya Hai,” “Tumse Milne Ko Dil Karta Hai,” as well as “Dheere Dheere Pyar Ko Badhana Hai”, were a feature of each and every 90s kid’s formative years.

The movie is full of elements that we can readily classify as oppressive in today’s world. Teachers might constantly encourage you to give the “guy one opportunity” in such a college relationship, that would invariably start with spying and plotting. And besides, he’s adorable! Re-watching Phool Aur Kaante in 2021 is accompanied by a fair dose of embarrassment. Not only Devgn, and also Madhoo (who portrays Pooja) made their Hindi cinema debut with Phool Aur Kaante.

The first part of the film centred about Devgn pressuring Madhoo into falling in love with him. He stalks her around everywhere, spray-paints her room with the words “Ajay loves Pooja,” and perhaps even uses the campus announcements microphone to profess his “love” for her.

What could have landed him in jail for a few years has however resulted in the girl voting yes to him as well a joyful marriage.
Devgn (Ajay) seeks to turn around their don father’s criminal enterprise as his scion in the second part since he wants to live a tranquil life. Inside the middle of it all, his and Madhoo’s child is kidnapped by the rival group. The plot is around whether Puri can compromise among his company and his household, or whether Ajay would follow in his father’s footsteps.

The movie is full of clichés, and I found myself laughing at several of them. Rocky is the name of one of the antagonists. A comic-romantic tune is performed by two college teachers.

The mobster father spouts words straight from a Film dons’ handbook. Madhoo’s post-marriage bahu performance is, well, funny. The plot of Phool Aur Kaante is quite foreseeable. Without such high-octane action, which was unique at the time, the picture could be another boring 90s masala mixture.
