Andaaz was filmed mainly in Cape Town, South Africa, as well as the movie’s key selling point, according to Darshan, was that it marked the debut appearance of two beautiful women here for the first occasion.
Nadeem–Shravan composed the music, while Sameer wrote the words. The music was a major hit, selling 2.5 million copies and becoming the year’s second best-selling Bollywood soundtrack.
On May 23, 2003, Andaaz was released in theatres. The movie was indeed a box office hit, collecting $288 million against an initial budget of $80 million. This was the year’s ninth-highest-grossing Indian film. It garnered five nominations just at the 49th Filmfare Awards, notably Best Supporting Actress for Chopra as well as Best Female Debut for Dutta and Chopra.
Dutta won the Screen Award for Best Female Debut, which has been nominated for both actresses.
Nadeem–Shravan created the music for Andaaz, while Sameer Anjaan wrote the lyrics. Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik, Sonu Nigam, Sapna Mukherjee, Kailash Kher, Babul Supriyo, and Shaan sang on the album’s eight songs. It was Darshan’s record company Shree Krishna Audio’s debut album, released on February 26, 2003, at such a ceremony in Mumbai. The music record for the movie earned great reviews from reviewers. “A good album worth a buy,” Bollywood Hungama said.
“On the whole, the music of Andaaz demonstrates the magnificent and inventive abilities of the composer pair, Nadeem-Shravan,” wrote Glamsham magazine in a glowing review. Some of the tunes will undoubtedly win awards in the future. The music on the CD is more upscale. The soundtrack’s whole content is unforgettable, and it’s a lovely present for everyone who likes rhythmical music.”
Planet Bollywood awarded it a 7.5 (out of 10) rating, describing it as “good,” adding, “the album features two or three fantastic songs, another three nice numbers, and a handful of mediocre numbers.”
Overall, it’s well worth a purchase, especially for fans of Nadeem-Shravan/Sameer as well as melody. It’s far superior to the majority of their recent attempts.”
In India, the music reached the top of the charts on a variety of platforms. As per Box Office India, the album was indeed the second best-selling Bollywood soundtrack of the year, having 2.5 million units sold.
