Akshay Kumar is known for taking his stand on fake news appearing on social media. Recently, there was news of the actor slashing his fees for “Bell Bottom” on Twitter. Allegedly, the actor agreed to reduce his fees by Rs.30 crore on request from Vashu Bhagnani.
Akshay’s upcoming spy thriller “Bell Bottom” was filmed in Scotland last year As per the original report the film mainly caters to tier 1 and 2 cities. Therefore, Vashu Bhagnani wanted to keep the budget in check. He requested Akshay to reduce his acting fees by Rs 30 crore. The source added that the actor agreed to Bhagnani’s request considering the COVID-19 situation in India. However, according to the report, if the film does well, the discount will be reimbursed to Akshay.
On Monday, Akshay Kumar took to his Twitter page and refuted the report. Sharing the original link to the report, he wrote, “What waking up to FAKE Scoops feels like!” Akshay is known for being a veteran in giving caustic replies. He seems to have done it again by adding a couple of emojis to his post.
The film “Bell Bottom is a Ranjit M Tewari directorial. The star cast includes Vaani Kapoor, Lara Dutta Bhupathi, and Huma Qureshi in key roles. The film was scheduled to hit theatres in April this year. The film’s release was deferred due to the ongoing pandemic.
