Kangana Ranaut will be venturing into the digital arena as a host for the new reality programme Lock Upp: Badass Jail, Atyaachari Khel Rohman Shawl, it was reported earlier this week. In a never-before-seen reality programme, 16 controversial celebrities will be locked up for months and deprived of their possessions. The trailer’s release created a lot of buzzes, but producer Ekta Kapoor kept the candidates’ identities hidden. Poonam Pandey is the first confirmed candidate in the new reality programme, according to Bollywood Hungama.
Several social media stories are already circulating regarding the celebs that have been contacted for the show. Rohman Shawl, Sushmita Sen’s ex-boyfriend, is one of the models that might appear on the programme. Apart from that, Anushka Sen, a rising television and internet star, and Shweta Tiwari, a prominent actress who was last seen in Khatron Ke Khiladi 11, have been contacted for the role. Om Swami, the spiritual leader and founder of the Black Lotus App, is also expected to appear on the evening, according to sources. None of the names have been confirmed as of yet.
ALTBalaji and MX Player will webcast the programme 24 hours a day, seven days a week on their own platforms, allowing viewers to engage directly with the competitors. The audience will be able to penalise or reward their favourite participants, as well as play ‘Khabri’ on some of them. The programme, which is produced by Endemol Shine India, will premiere on ALTBalaji and MX Player on February 27, 2022.
