Atrangi Re, a movie directed by Aanand L Rai as well as featuring Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan, as well as Dhanush, began filming in Varanasi in March of the last year. In October 2020, the crew resumed filming in Madurai, backed by a programme in Delhi. The creators have since settled on such a digital distribution. Meanwhile, the filmmakers have released early glimpses at the cast. First looks at Akshay Kumar’s, Sara Ali Khan’s, and Dhanush’s roles were shared by Akshay Kumar. He said, “Introducing Sara as Atrangi No. 1,” in a letter to Sara. “Ek ladki…pyaar mein paagal ♥️ Miliye Atrangi No. 1 Rinku se kal.”
“Meet iss love tale ka Atrangi No.2, naam jiska hai Vishu!” he tweeted while presenting Dhanush as Atrangi No. 2.
He went on to say, “In introducing his character, “An Atrangi fable about love’s insanity. Yours truly is adding charm to this narrative!”
This would be Akshay Kumar’s second OTT release following Laxmmi, Sara Ali Khan’s just after Coolie No. 1, as well as Dhanush’s second following Jagame Thandhiram. However, Akshay’s next film starring Aanand L Rai, Raksha Bandhan, will be released in theatres on August 11, 2022.
Atrangi Re is produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series, Colour Yellow Productions, and Cape of Good Films as well as directed by Aanand L Rai. Himanshu Sharma wrote the screenplay. The movie’s soundtrack was created by AR Rahman, featuring songs written by Irshad Kamil.
