Shirish Kunder’s second directorial attempt following Jaan-E-Mann is the 2012 Indian Hindi-language science fantasy screwball comedy movie, Joker. Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha play significant roles in the movie. After Rowdy Rathore, this one was Sinha’s second collaboration with Akshay. The Joker movie was released in cinemas internationally on August 31, 2012, to mediocre to poor reviews. Just at the box office, this picture got labelled a “Disaster.” This movie’s trailer was released on July 11, 2012, and that it was released in theatres alongside Cocktail.
Agastya (Akshay Kumar) is just a scientist who is researching here on the construction of an extraterrestrial communication network. However, Agastya lost his superiors’ trust and therefore is given a one-month ultimatum to complete his program having visible results.
Meanwhile, Agastya learns about his father’s sickness through his lover Diva (Sonakshi Sinha). When they learn of all this, they travel to his hometown of Paglapur, where they meet his sibling (Shreyas Talpade), who talks in gibberish, a child that believes he is indeed a lamppost, and everybody else who believes World War II still is happening on then and fears the Nazis.
