Fanaa is indeed a romantic movie directed by Kunal Kohli as well as produced by Aditya Chopra underneath the banner of Yash Raj Films. Aamir Khan and Kajol appear in the movie, which also has Rishi Kapoor, Kirron Kher, Tabu, and Sharat Saxena in supporting parts.
Khan portrays Rehaan Khan, a tourist guide in New Delhi, whereas Kajol plays Zooni Ali Beg, a blind Kashmiri woman. Both form a relationship, and yet are torn off by a terrorist assault, which is said to have killed Rehaan. He was eventually found not to have been murdered, but to be a Kashmiri rebel named Rehaan Qadri, who really is the architect in behind assaults.
Seven years later, his organisation, the “IKF,” sends him on such a mission to Kashmir, wherein he encounters Zooni for the second time in a bizarre twist of destiny. Khan’s first role as such an anti-hero came in this movie.
At the time it was released, Fanaa was among the most costly Bollywood movies. The name of the picture is inspired from of the Islamic Sufi phrase “fanaa,” which in Arabic, Persian, Urdu, and Hindi means “destroyed.” The movie’s slogan was “Destroyed In Love…”; Khan as well as Kajol were romancing for the very first time inside this movie, although it was their second collaboration following Ishq, in which they have been partnered alongside Juhi Chawla and Ajay Devgn, correspondingly.
This also signified Kajol’s return after her last appearance in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.. (2001).
On May 26, 2006, Fanaa was released. Owing to demonstrations to Khan’s statements criticising the Gujarat administration, the movie was prohibited inside the state of Gujarat. Despite this, Fanaa got good critical reviews and was a financial success.
Zooni Ali Beg (Kajol) is a blind Kashmiri lady who travels to New Delhi for the very first time alongside her companions Fatima “Fatty” Gupta (Shruti Seth), Mehbooba “Bobo” Raj (Sanaya Irani), Rubina “Ruby” Khanna (Gautami Kapoor), and Helen (Lillete Dubey) to participate in a Republic Day event.
She encounters Rehan Khan (Aamir Khan), a tour guide that flirts with her while on her travels. Despite her friends’ warnings, Zooni falls in love with him. Rehan and Zooni spend the night together on her last night in Delhi and end up in bed. Rehan arrives just as Zooni is about to leave the next day and snatches her away with him. Her parents arrive in Delhi to finalise the details of their wedding. Zooni has a treatment done to help her regain her vision, but when she wakes up, she learns that Rehan has been killed in a bombing in the city.
Malini Tyagi (Tabu) is indeed a special intelligence agent dispatched to analyse the threat posed by the bomb detonation and the party responsible, the IKF, an independent group fighting for such an independent Kashmir. Rehan is revealed to be the person who set the bomb off, then pretended to die such that Zooni wouldn’t come seeking for him. He admits to loving Zooni, and also confesses that due to his risky lifestyle, he will never ever see her again.
Rehan is just on another assignment with the IKF seven years later. IKF possesses a nuclear bomb, but it needs to get its hands on the trigger, which is held by the army.
Rehan takes it, but Tyagi figures out what he’s doing to and dispatches soldiers to stop him. Rehan gets injured inside the subsequent gunfight. He travels to a rural residence in search of assistance. It’s Zooni’s residence, as it turns out. After Rehan’s alleged death, Zooni became pregnant and gave birth to and raised her and Rehan’s kid (also named “Rehan” by Zooni). Rehan Sr. returned two years after Zooni’s mother died. Rehan Sr. is rescued by Zooni and her father, but neither of them recognises him as Zooni’s former boyfriend. Rehan Sr. develops feelings for his son and family after originally being estranged from them.
Rehan finally exposes his actual identity to them, leaving his terrorist activities undisclosed. Zooni is first wounded, but she refuses to let Rehan leave her again, and the two of them marry under her father’s plan. Rehan is the subject of a report by Tyagi, which warns the public that he is a terrorist. When Zooni’s father gets this report, he confronts Rehan about the trigger he discovered in his pocket. Zooni’s father is killed when Rehan unintentionally tosses him off a precipice. He radios the IKF from an army officer’s home, however when the officer sees Rehan, he murders him.
Zooni discovers her father’s body, and Rehan denies that he died. Zooni, on the other hand, subsequently sees the news broadcast and discovers the trigger. She runs with her kid towards the officer’s house, whereupon she radios for assistance. Tyagi orders her to put a halt to Rehan. The next day, Rehan appears and takes the trigger from Zooni, threatening to murder her and their son if he doesn’t. Rehan’s grandpa, Zooni, shoots him inside the leg just as he is ready to pull the gun on the IKF chief. Rehan pulls his revolver and prepares to shoot her, but he can’t bring himself to do it. To stop him, Zooni shoots him twice, this times fatally. Tyagi comes just in time to prevent the IKF from shooting Zooni. In Zooni’s embrace, Rehan passes away.
Zooni as well as her kid subsequently make a visit to the father’s and Rehan’s graves, which are interred close to one another. Zooni informs her kid how his father did whatever he believed was right whenever he wonders if he was really wrong.
