Farah Khan praises Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s new Pepsi commercial and recalls being told she is “too old to get married and have children.”
Farah Khan, a filmmaker, and choreographer, recently praised Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s latest Pepsi commercial, which criticized society for criticizing women, on her Instagram account. The dancer revealed how she was the target of hostile remarks that sought to diminish her achievements as a successful director and choreographer as well as a woman. Farah remembered hearing that she was too old to be married or have children.
The filmmaker released a commercial with Samantha on Wednesday with the following caption: “As I am watching this film, I can’t help but remember how many times I have been subjected to commentary that tried to bring me down in my journey as not only a successful choreographer and director but also as a woman.. You don’t dress like a Choreographer. You’re too young to be in this field. Women can’t make action films. You’re too old to get married. Too old to have kids.” She added, “Guess what? Here I am and I DID IT. I chose not to give into what society had to say about me but put in the hard work to #RiseUpBaby! Love this narrative.”
The South actor, who is shown in the advertisement as a bride, overhears two older people advising females to get married promptly. “Time se nahi, marzi se honi chahiye.” Later, Samantha entered an apartment building, where the security guard questions her about what work she’s doing late at night. She gave him a badass answer with confidence.
Farah married Shirish Kunder in 2004 when she was about 40 years old. In 2008, the couple used in vitro fertilization to give birth to triplets—a son and two girls.
