According to reports, the actor was paid Rs. 20 crores for his involvement in the movie. While the sum may appear excessive to some, Prabhas’ commitment to the film was immeasurable. The actor fully submerged himself in the role and delivered a convincing representation of a great monarch.
Prabhas, who portrays Amarendra Baahubali/Mahendra Baahubali, was paid a staggering Rs 25 crore for the Baahubali franchise. Rana Daggubati, who plays the powerful villain Bhallala Deva, was paid Rs 15 crore for the film, while strong ladies Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah were each given Rs 5 crore.
Supporting characters Katappa and Sivagami, played by Sathyaraj and Ramya Krishnan, are responsible for Baahubali’s success. According to reports, both actors were given Rs 2-2.5 crore each. SS Rajamouli, the key guy without whom Baahubali would not have been feasible, has now received Rs 28 crore for directing the movie. Rajamouli would earn a third of the revenues from Baahubali 1& 2 in addition to his pay, according to sources.
It’s worth noting that Baahubali 2 grossed a staggering Rs 534 crore in India alone. The Prabhas-starrer has grossed Rs 860 crore worldwide, topping superstar Aamir Khan’s PK’s lifetime total of Rs 792 crore.
