Directed by Agathian, Sirf Tum, a 1999 Indian Bollywood romantic movie. On June 4, 1999, this was released. Sanjay Kapoor, Priya Gill, Sushmita Sen, and Jackie Shroff star in the movie. The film was shot in Nainital, Kerala, and Houston, Texas. It’s a remake of a Tamil movie Kadhal Kottai from 1996. The movie was a box office hit in India, grossing about 10.35 crores.
Talking about the plot of the movie Sirf Tum, Sanjay Kapoor’s character Deepak Rai discovers a bag containing educational diplomas pertaining to a woman called Aarti (Priya Gill). He discovers that this woman resides in Nainital and ships her belongings back to her, initiating a long-distance connection via letters.
Despite the fact that the pair haven’t ever met, they have a romantic connection. Nirmal (Tej Sapru), Aarti’s sister and brother-in-law, is somewhat supportive. Although Nirmal recommends that she marry Mr Prem (Salman Khan), a well-known young entrepreneur and business associate in their neighbourhood, Aarti’s older sister urges her to pick her own lifelong partner.
Aarti sets out again on her quest to find and meet Deepak one day without alerting him of her intentions. He is now based in Delhi due to a temporary employment contract for his employer Neha. Deepak’s supervisor, Neha (Sushmita Sen), is romantically attracted to him as well, but Deepak isn’t really. Aarti has a special place in his heart. He steps down as a result of all this, and then in order to make ends meet, he keeps running an auto-rickshaw just at the instigation of Pritam (Jackie Shroff), with who he made friends ever since he first showed up in Delhi and also who assisted him once he didn’t get a place with his own.
Aarti had sent Deepak a woollen jumper with such a picture of a “lit diya” crocheted over this during the communication a few months earlier. When Aarti comes to Delhi, she searches for Deepak’s location and employment in the hopes of surprising them with her arrival and learning more about him. She is unable to locate Deepak and chooses to return since a week has gone by and the clock is ticking. She may not have had another opportunity to meet him. She regrettably arrives at the railway station to come back home.
Unknown to Aarti, while her rickshaw collapsed since she first landed in Delhi, she has borrowed Deepak’s vehicle and spent the entire day out with him. Somebody spills coffee on Deepak’s shirt when he is dropping her off from the station. Deepak takes off his shirt to reveal a woollen sweater underneath. Aarti recognises it and shouts aloud his name, but they both realise one other and that they had spent the entire time seeking one another.
Pritam as well as Jency (Jaya Bhattacharya) stare at Aarti and Deepak as they embrace one another at the end of the movie.
Nadeem-Shravan composed all of the tracks, while Sameer wrote the lyrics. T-Series and Eros Music have cassettes and CDs accessible. All of the songs were huge hits, including “Pehli Pehli Baar Mohabbat Ki Hai” and “Dilbar” topping the charts.
The Sirf Tum soundtrack album was indeed the tenth best-selling Bollywood music album of 1999, with 2.2 million units sold. “Dilbar” was recreated in Satyamev Jayate, with Neha Kakkar singing it, but it became a chart smash such as the original.
