Hollywood Burbank Airport, officially and was once known as Bob Hope Airport following comedian Bob Hope, is indeed a public airport in Los Angeles County, California, United States, located 3 miles (4.8 km) northwest of downtown Burbank. Downtown Los Angeles as well as the northern Greater Los Angeles region, including includes Glendale, Pasadena, as well as the San Fernando Valley, are served by the airport.
It’s indeed closer to numerous prominent sites than Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), notably Griffith Park, Universal Studios Hollywood, Hollywood, as well as Downtown Los Angeles, and it is the only airport inside the area with such a direct train link to Downtown Los Angeles, providing services from two positions.
JetBlue provides daily flights to New York City, and nonstop flights generally service places in the western United States.
The airport has been originally located entirely inside the municipal boundaries of Burbank, however, the north end of Runway 15/33 has indeed been expanded through into city of Los Angeles. The Burbank–Glendale–Pasadena Airport Authority owns and operates the airport, which is governed by that of the governments of the three cities. The Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority Police are under contract the TBI Airport Management, Inc. to run the airport, which has its own police and fire units. Instead of jet bridges, boarding is done with moveable boarding steps or ramps.
It is classified as a medium-hub major commercial service facility by the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2017–2021.
Commercial flights are restricted here between hours of 7:00 a.m. and also 10:00 p.m. for noise abatement, with all leaving aircraft taking off to the south on runway 15 and all incoming planes landing on runway 8. By land, FlyAway express coach and Metrolink/Amtrak connect Hollywood Burbank Airport to Los Angeles International Airport.
